So wife was driving home work and the car shut off on her today. It sputtered out to a stop. It would turn over and try to start but never fire. It’s been towed to the dealer. No word on what it was yet, just definitely not a battery issue.

2022 LE, that’s only thing I could figure. Is that a common failure ?
not super common, ive only heard of a few, but if you were following the IS 500 production in 2022 and why they stopped, the issue was 100% the supply or lack there of fuel pumps. So that makes me question was there shortcuts on the fuel pumps that caused the failure, did they switch who was providing them or was the supply of parts for the fuel pump sub-par. Either way production stopped in 2022 because of the fuel pump.

Those with fuel pump issues - any signs beforehand? Or just complete failure?
I barely drive it, since it’s my wife’s daily. But I did notice it taking longer to start recently. Like a few more engine turns before it fired recently. Didn’t really think anything of it because I don’t drive it much.
Now you’ve got me nervous. Mine cranks a few times when it’s cold before it starts. It does not fire on the first crank. Wonder if that’s normal.
Yeah... same here. When I was leaving the meet last night it took a second to start, turned a few times. I hope it's not the fuel pump, though mine is a 2023.

Turning a few times should take longer than a second, right? If it was really longer than a second that seems odd.

I would say about 1 second, actually. I didn't mean a literal second, but now that you mention it, it was about one second, perhaps slightly longer. I guess maybe that's within normalcy.
Like it continues to turn over for a couple seconds before it starts? I am just curious if I am seeing the same thing or normal variation in the start up.
