Default Hidden car wash safety system disable option?

Some of you all aren’t fans of car washes, so hoping we can avoid this thread from devolving into a discussion about the cons of car washes.

For those that use them, is there a hidden option somewhere in our cars to disable all the safety system with one button or menu choice so that they don’t go haywire when going through a car wash? Only option I’m finding is to manually disable 5-6 safety & convenience systems prior to going through one.

Had others cars with a menu option that deactivated any system that’d get thrown off by a car wash. I know you can press the right center button on steering wheel to disable the alert noises, but have gone through a couple where the collision avoidance activates so disabling the noises alone isn’t good enough. Even things like remembering to turn off the automatic windshield wipers can get annoying when a simple solution is already out there. Just hoping our cars has it.

What kind of car wash is this?

The touch-free one I use when it's hot AF outside is the kind that moves around your car. I just put the car in park and none of the safety stuff goes off. If your car is moving through then I'm not sure what you can do. Maybe put it in neutral?

You have to put it in neutral for a car wash with a conveyor system anyway.

I would just use the parking sensor on/off button and turn them off, as well as fold the mirrors in. (Granted, I never go to the conveyor-belt/spinning brush style wash anyway...) Would that be enough?

Be sure to lock the doors when you first go in. If not the brushes push on the fuel door enough to release it. The second set of brushes may not like the fuel door in its way.

I'm confused. If you drive the car in, wouldn't it still be locked?

Good to be aware of though.

Do they unlock when you shift into neutral? I honestly don't know, I don't even know if I've gone from drive to neutral yet lol

Well that is what I thought. apparently opening the door the doors did not auto lock on me twice. My fuel door survived, but freaked me out just the same when I got out the wash to find it open. Now i press the lock button a couple of times and no issue. Once would have been enough, but I want to be sure. OCD I guess!

When you go from Park to Drive, it locks automatically. That's why I am lost lol.

You would have to be in Drive to physically get the car into the car wash before putting it in Neutral. Whatever. :P

Maybe his car is setup up not to automatically lock the doors when going from park to drive? I think mine is setup to lock the doors only when car gets past 5mph. So if have car in park while waiting at entry gate, then the car is unlocked, then put it in drive and creep up to the car wash and doors don’t lock unless get going faster than 5mph, meaning the fuel cap door would also be unlocked. Just a guess as I haven’t faced that problem but will definitely be aware of it.

Regardless, as to the original question for this thread, I guess the answer is ‘no’ ??

Yep! This is how mine is setup. Will have to look to see how to change.

This setting is easily changed under the "Door Lock" settings on the infotainment system or via the use of Techstream.
