Maybe we can still takeover the world by numbers and not just a leadership replacement. 😜😂
Congrats!
Besides the IS500, I would also like to call out the GR Corolla: previously hyped to be hard to get without huge ADM, now can be easily had for MSRP (and possibly snag a discount if you are willing to negotiate).
Maybe wrong thread for discussion but what if any would be the first car they put that twin turbo V6 from the new LX SUV into? A V8 IS500 v a twin turbo V6 IS500….now that would be a couple of twins I would like to have.
I do believe the LS was given the twin-turbo V6 first and then the LX. It was put into the IS 600 concept too.
Would be fascinating to see that. Seems the twin-turbo V6 gets a bit lost in the Lexus lineup, but @ 416 hp, 442 ft-lbs torque matched up with the 10-speed, this would be a quite a beast. Seems they would have to make alot of changes to the IS to fit all this in.
TGPCanada - TBH, I almost wish Lexus comes out with this engine in the 2024 IS 500 so there are fewer of the 500 with the V8
That is what makes this car so special to me, owning something so amazing and now almost exclusive. Everyone is going the route of turbos and electrically assisted so to me, owning a twin turbo V6 would not make it special anymore. Maybe it's because I never owned a naturally aspirated V8 in my entire life and always wanted one?! I will say, when people find out that my car has a NA V8, their reaction is always "OMG, no way! Please pop the hood!"
We already know that this V8 is not the fastest car, heck even some electric cars will smoke this, to me, it's the sound of this amazing V8 that is simply irreplaceable - Heck, even Willie doesn't sing this good (lol)
