Johnson Lexus (Raleigh-Durham, NC) has the spec you are looking for, Caviar on Red. They also have a USB on Black. Both appear to be in transit per their website. If anyone reaches out to them, ask for Larry Howell. He’s top notch and I’ve purchased from him in the past and the level of service I received was unparalleled.

Also…on the IS 500 F Sport Performance Owner’s Club facebook group, people have had a crap ton of success with Nick Ensey @ Pembroke Pines, FL.

I had a horrible experience with one of their reps in Jan 2022, but it seems Nick is able to cut through the bullcrap and sell the cars for MSRP. The Florida market is still hot for the IS 500.

 

No dice on either location, but deeply appreciate the leads.

I got a call from my local dealer, and the answer I was given was that they "put in a build request to Lexus, a d they are at the mercy of them picking up that build and completing it".

Part of me wants to sit and wait out the high interest rates and let the dealer make good on their promise, but the other part of me doubts if I'll ever actually see my "requested build". Other dealers appear to have the same form for a request, but they could be in the same boat.

 

^^ If your color combo is not out of whack, you might get lucky but a dealer could always work with their district manager to redirect a car of your preference to them so you can get what you want. In my case, I wanted white on white and despite the dealer's best effort, all they could get me was a white with red interior which I don't regret (most of the time - then someone post a pic of their white interior and the drooling begins)

TBH - I would put your name in a few dealers and sign with the one that gets your combo first. Putting your eggs in one basket is a bit risky and you might miss out

 

That’s where I was. I called my 2 local dealers and then Johnson in Raleigh (which is actually an 8 hour drive from me) because I had worked with them previously and really wanted to purchase from them again. Sadly, no dice after more than a year simply due to low allocations. Plenty of opportunities but I was 100% set on USB.

Eventually went even further out and started looking at ever major metro market within 4-5 hours of me (Indy, Nashville, etc) and finally landed the one I ultimately bought at Germain in Columbus, OH.

 

I dont think anyone is missing out anymore. The IS500 is pretty easy to find now. Most dealers have 1-3 on their lot at all times. The issue is the price keeps creeping up as time goes on and they add more features.

 

^^ What I mean is if he stays with 1 dealer for his color combo he wants and they can't get one, the 2023 MY allocation is going to start slowing down to start the 2024 (which will be the same) but at some point, he might miss out. If a dealer only get 2 or 3 allocated units and not the same combo he wants, there is only a couple of years left so do the math...he may miss out. That is why I said, put your name on a few dealerships to make sure you get one I know what you mean though, things have changed since 2022 for sure and more cars available but still somewhat limited
