I can't speak for anyone else, but there is 0% chance I'd own this car if it wasn't for the 2UR. Not that it's a bad car without the NA V8, but the engine is its unique selling point.

I agree. The engine makes the car. But, there are a lot of good things about the car, especially the ride and the audio system, that make it an overall great car. The twin turbo V-6 is something I've yet to experience myself, though it seems that it has gotten positive reviews in the LS, LX, and Tundra, apart from some teething issues in the early LSes.

 

^^ I agree but would you have changed your 350 for the 500 if it came with the TT V6? I mean you can get the same great ride, same interior amenities, same great audio, same great look, same comfortable seats and even better brakes in your 350. I personally wouldn't have because that TT V6 wouldn't have that special/cool feeling. I paid the extra cash so I could get that V8 soundtrack and own something that I know is not going to be around for long (production) but be around forever (longevity/reliability)

 

I probably wouldn't have been nearly as excited for the IS 500 if it had the twin-turbo V-6. Can't say for sure whether I would've bought it. But I can say that I'd definitely be disappointed to see another "500" badged vehicle that didn't have the V-8.

 

I drove the LS 500 so I have experienced that V6 Turbo on the road and a little track. I would not replace my IS 500 and the V8 experience for that engine. However I would replace my wife's IS 350 for that motor. It was smooth and torquey but probably because of the tuning on the LS it did not "feel" fast. I'm all for TT V8 though like was rumored for the LC F.

 

I also had a horrible experience with Lexus of Pembroke Pines earlier this year. They told me they would sell at MSRP, then after going back and forth over a couple days (it always took them forever to get back with me) the final numbers had a $7K markup. The salesperson I was dealing with tried to claim that was their "standard dealer fee"... Talked with someone else there that admitted it was their markup and that they weren't willing to budge on it.

just got off the phone with my 2 local dealers, and both said they wouldnt be getting any usb or grecian. is this a local dealer problem, or bigger?
anyone outside of MO have similar problems?

 

Congrats on the MP! I saw one at Nalley Lexus in GA, as well as one in Chattanooga TN, both around the same time! I’m having to have my MP shipped in from KS (in KY.)

 

Yes I’ve gathered that both blues are harder to come by. Look for the Specifications Datasheet thread in this forum, it provides exact numbers of each color and VINs for every vehicle by color as well.

Agreed…very hard to say. Two of the reasons I jumped on the IS 500:

1. Seriously more power.
2. Naturally Aspirated, I am not interested in turbo/electrified anything.

I loved my 2016, but really wanted more power. I would like to think 1 & 2 were not mutually exclusive, but it’s possible Item #1 would ultimately win.
