What "quality" issues have you had if you don't mind me asking? All I seem to recall was the exhaust gasket, which in your case didn't even have to be replaced, and the rest of the times that you've mentioned something it's just been that you didn't know how the feature worked. I'd expect you to comment a hell of a lot more if there were actually any quality issues...

I'm not sure this really counts but the black anodized window trim rubs off pretty easily with many common car polishes.

Edit: I should say rubs off instantly with common car polishes.

I personally wouldn't count it for two reasons:
1. If people read the owners manual they'd see that Lexus literally says that you have to follow special procedures to care for the finish. The same goes for the Alcantara.
2. Why would anyone polish that trim to begin with? There are plenty of car products that will clean the finish to look like new aside from polishes and compounds.

So far this has only been reported by one user who took their car to get paint correction. So nobody, not even the car's owner, will truly know what the detailer did and it's far from being widespread. But I digress as it is still mentioned in the manual.

I had never polished the car though so I don't know how it happened. Could've been the window tinters?

100% the window tints. They heat shrink the tint on the outside of the car and cover the outside with soapy water so it could've been a result of the heat gun along with a combination of them rubbing vigorously like an idiot to remove the soapy residue. I hope you called them out on it....

I'm not entirely convinced it was from window tinting since the other pieces are fine. It would've been such a long time ago and I only recently noticed it. It happened before @Velobrew showed his and even after that, I didn't notice it. So maybe it was like this when I took delivery of the car? Who knows. *shrug* Unfortunately I don't have any earlier pictures of my car from a straight-on side view.

That’s a lot of slowly dissipating heat for the surrounding plastic parts to just be marinating in for 8+ hours.

Can’t imagine it’s any more heat than an RC-F or IS-F deals with though and haven’t heard of similar issues with those vehicles, which is why to me the tab defect idea makes so much sense as only the drivers side seems to be affected.

Maybe the last straw for our fenders was the extra summer time heat?

Regardless I’ll let yall know what kind of pushback I get as I’m having my car serviced for this and a couple other issues next Tuesday.
just checking to see if you got any update about the fix from your dealer?
I’m in the same boat and waiting for my second dealer appointment that lexus cooperate is working on.
if they are going to change the bracket clip like they did it for mine then it wont work.
guess it might require a new bracket with clip design that can hold.

silk69 - I haven't brought mine in because to be honest, the gap is barely noticeable....Unless you know what to look for, 99% of people wouldn't see anything wrong. I am still mindful that mine could develop the sagging issue, it happened to my face and other body parts, a few years ago so I am watching this thread carefully and take appropriate action. The part that worries me the most is that in Canada, there are much few IS 500 on the road so unless Lexus USA shares the fix with Lexus Canada, we''ll be left trying to convince the dealer of what needs to be done hence why this forum is so useful/helpful

Understandable. I just wanted to hear from "jororo" on the progress with his scheduled fix with his dealer.
I'm on the same boat as my first dealer was not able to fix it making it a little worse than default.
Still looking for answers from Lexus. I will keep posted when I hear back from Lexus sometime next week.
Couldn't really enjoy my car with the fear of having a bigger bumper issue due to this manufacture defect.

Took mine in last week to get this addressed, but unfortunately the body shop manager was out on vacation so I’ll have to take it back in again this week. Seems the body shop manager’s guidance/approval is needed to decide between a rigged fix (clip replacement, glue, etc) or what seems like the more permanent fix (replace the entire bumper with one that doesn’t have the manufacturing defect).

They did say it’d take at least one month to get a replacement front bumper cover if that’s the repair route they have to take.

So has anyone had a permanent fix to this issue beyond super glue & crossed fingers ???

With all these small issues coming up and people inspecting their cars I was wondering if anyone else has the cracked wheel center caps like I did.

Hopefully Lexus does what it can to keep good faith with their customers with all these things popping up. So far my car hasn't had any of these other issues yet, and hopefully it doesn't at all. But I hope they fix it for those that do have them. I read these threads daily so I know what's going on and what to do if it pops up.

Dropped of the car at dealership today. As per the dealer The gap was more visible than it was few weeks ago.
These things might get worse as time progress.
They will now work it out with lexus corporate to find the cause. Hopefully it not big .

As its a body work my car will be gone for few days to at least a week.
gonna miss it for this weekend 😔
Will keep you guys posted.

Silk69 - Thanks for the update and I really hope something positive will come out out of this "time away from home"!!

DLPTony - I hope then Corporate will take to us Maple Syrup and Ketchup chips lovers north of the border so we are not left on our own trying to explain that this gap is not normal....
