Default Complaints are power!!!

So basically after talking to Lexus brand engagement team, I asked how do we bring awareness to Lexus about this and get a recap sent out? They basically said that with enough complaints filed they will look into it and look for a nationwide fix/repair. So all I can say is to tell EVERYONE who is having this issue to call Lexus brand engagement and file a complaint about the problem!

So is warranty repair denials for this issue limited to those in Canada so far? Haven’t noticed Lexus denying this for those of us in the states. Assuming the Canadian IS500 owners have printed out this and other threads on this issue and shown it to their dealership(s)?

^^ I am in Canada and I called both dealers (the one I purchased and the one closest to where I live and does all my service) and both were extremely receptive to my concerns and said that the next time I am in, they'll submit a Flash Product Report to Lexus, once they look at the car to determine the problem. They have put a note on my file for now and when I go for my oil change later this fall, I'll have them document it properly (without removing the bumper because I don't want them to tinker with it until they have a fix given how minor mine is for now). So to be honest, I don't get the vibe that my situation will get denied but I do hope more people report the issue but in Canada, there are much fewer IS 500 sold, so I am really hoping a bulletin gets issued for the US and then hopefully, someone will post it so I can save it and show it to Lexus Canada

I have the same issue only on my driver side. I noticed it about a month or so after taking delivery. it was very minor then. Now it's much more pronounced, probably because of the extreme heat further warping it.

Default Front bumper popping out

Hi there folks.
New IS, around 5k miles.

Front right bumper is popping out, slightly. Enough to annoy me as it is noticeable.

Dealer is trying to fix - they replaced retainers but it did not help. They have a good attitude.

I took the car to a car shop I respect, the owner is a great and friendly guy - I trust him - and he told me that he sees this problem almost weekly, and that there is not much to do other than using some glue. "If you replace the bumper, honestly, the problem will come back in a few months" .

I was wondering if you've seen this and what is the recommended course.

Thanks for any hint.

I wonder if this is the same issue we've been seeing on IS 500s. This is a pretty widespread issue on that particular trim. Agreed that pics would help, since there are a lot of places where the bumper could pop out.

Thanks guys.

I will try to post pics tonight.

And yes, this is an IS 500.

The shop owner told me this issue is quite common with all the IS line.

I'm having the same issue. Add my case to the list. Exact same issue.

Dealer mentioned replacing the bumper under warranty, like you said above. The new bumper would come raw and the dealership body shop would paint it. It is never the same, right? It can be very similar from a color point of view, but never exactly the same as factory painted parts.

Would you still prefer a new bumper in these circumstances?

I wouldn't recommend the new bumper until Lexus figures out exactly how to fix it. You'll have an inferior paint job, potentially a color mismatch, and the problem may come back.

How do we contact them? I can't find their number.

Tried to send them a message on the "contact Lexus" link including pictures of the bumper and got this. Can't say I'm surprised even a tiny bit given their total trash app and garbage websites.
