Didn’t know if anyone else has noticed this? The birds eye camera view puts the side of the car about 8” to 12” closer to potentially damaging objects (like curbs) than what is shown from behind the car. Pretty clear to see the disjointed rendered curb line in image below.
Might just be my car. Dealer said they could probably recalibrate everything but since car is already to be replaced not really worth shuttling back & forth just to get this fixed. Regardless might be worth confirming that your IS doesn’t do this as relying too much on the birds eye view for parallel parking could lead to some scratched rims !!!
I grew up using mirrors. I still used them primarily and use the cameras as an aid.

Definitely. Valeted cars through high school so rarely use it beyond making sure I’m as far away as possible from the cars parked on both sides. Issue is when wife has to rely on it or we let someone else drive it while visiting. Feature was a big requirement for those reasons, and now we have scuffed rims because of it (everyone has to learn the lesson once, even when warned).
Much like the fights others are having on the front bumper separation, the overarching issue is that Lexus keeps saying this horrendous performance is ‘within spec.’ Noticed their LS500 did the same thing, at leas with curbs, but their newer system (in the new Tundra, for example) doesn’t seem to. Could be higher rear camera helping out.
It can be calibrated. I'm not sure if the way to get into the backend settings is the same as the RX350. You can try holding down the menu button. Then quickly turn the headlight switch from ON to OFF. Repeat 5 times to get into the settings panel. If I remember correctly.

I have calibrated my RX350 before. I just parked the car on a level surface. I drew lines around the car and made sure they were parallel to the car and at equal distances. I then adjusted based on the displayed image.
