SOLVED: Identified interior rattle in the dash - Panel help needed!
Hello all, heavily modding these cars isn't too common so I'm not sure if anyone has taken apart a lot of the interior yet that would be able to help, but putting this out there before I do exploratory surgery and break something!
My car developed a rattle on rougher road surfaces after only about 4 months of ownership (about a year ago now). I'm super sensitive about interior noises so I set about trying to locate the offending surface and thought I found it with the passenger side knee pad/rest (triangle part by the HVAC controls). The fit of everything in this car is tight and you can tell the tolerances causing this rattle are minuscule. I only get it when the outside temperature is under 85F/29.5C so the expansion in the heat over the summer made it go away until the past few months.
So my old fix of shifting the knee pad around wasn't working anymore this winter and I started feeling around more and finally found that it is 100% the rear cover (domed piece on the backside in picture below) of the media screen. What I'm hoping to get help with is if anyone knows anything about how this part comes off. There aren't any screws so I assume its just snapped in but I don't want to break anything. I just want to know if I need to pop it straight up or straight back or maybe at an angle up-and-back. My plan is to pop it off and either trim the edges so it fits a little better or maybe just adding a foam pad inside to give it resistance will be enough.

Any insights would be appreciated!
I am 99% sure it pulls up but I will defer to someone else who has TIS
I have the same issue with my 2023. The rattling is annoying. Seems to happen more with colder temps. Hopefully, I won't have the same issue on my 2025 UE.
Just curious, any reason you won't let your dealer take a first crack at it rather than risk doing more harm to it? I would see a dealer saying " well you tried tinkering with it so now we wont try and fix it under warranty" should you not be able to resolve it and ask them to try. I would always let the dealer have a chance at it before doing it myself but I admire your confidence
I had a rattle / rubbing noise coming from my screen as well. It ended up being the soft touch material rubbing against the lower right corner of the screen.
I took some 1/8" thick foam and wedged it in between the dash and lower right corner of the screen. No more noise even when its really cold.
I also have a minor rattle that seems like it's coming from somewhere in the driver's door/driver side HVAC vent. It's not too annoying yet, but if it starts to bother me more I'll have to do something.

I can attest to this. My passenger side window switch trim rattled like a **** and after enough complaining they finally added felt tape and it went away

Do you know where the felt was added? My driver’s side switch has the slightest of rattles. If I listened to music, then I would have never heard it. When I rest my hand on it, the rattling stops.
