Well.....hit a curb today and got a good case of wheel rash. Have not even broken in the car yet. Black BBs;s...any thoughts ?
That's painful 😔
I fixed some curb rash myself before, it was easier than I thought. I lightly sanded the area to remove the burrs and painted it with the factory touch up paint. Afterward it was hard to find unless you were looking for it.

i may need to try that also. just nicked a curb the other day
Yeah I have used some black touch-up paint (not OEM Lexus, but still good enough) to mask a couple of small nicks on my own wheels. I have some more that I would prefer to have a professional fix lol. But if it is nothing major, could try DIY-ing it.
My panic is now over....had a guy that works for dealerships here in san diego, fixed a keying on my mazda . He looked at pics and is coming monday to my home . $125 bucks, sand and paint. I looked online and lots of do it yourself kits out there, however I'm not going to chance it. The guys at discount tire gave me a name of American Factory wheel. in Santee. Good reviews. Same price...
Well, after over a year and a half of ownership, my curb rash moment has come. Pulled out forwards from a spot lined with Belgium block and heard the horrible sound of the right rear wheel scraping. When pulling out, I specifically thought of not doing this and then, what do you know. Obviously it is my fault, but in my defense the spot was longer than usual so I misjudged the turn. I guess I am adding parking next to curbs in parking lots as yet another thing I will try to avoid...
I have had curb rash repaired on other cars, but this is the first incident with the wheels on this car. I have an appointment next Monday for Lexus (i.e. the person they have do the work) to repair this, but I can't help but wonder if this will come out well, namely due to the wheel itself and how deep some of this seems. Alas, it is worth a shot versus spending $1,700 on a new wheel (per Longo Lexus), which seems to be the cheapest price for a brand new wheel without investigating the legitimacy of other retailers/sites out there.
Admittedly, a lot of this is venting, but if anyone has their own opinions on how well this repair will come out, that would be appreciated. If nothing else, it will set my expectations.

I curbed mine WAY WAY worse than that last year and I was scared I'd need to get a new wheel. The dealership had a repair guy on-site when I was getting an oil change and his fee was $110 so I gave it a shot. Mine isn't back to mint (a few gouges were too deep and are now like little ripples) but from more than 1ft away you really can't tell. I was very happy with the result. Yours should probably be able to be repaired to near, if not perfect, condition again.
Had a curb rash on my BBS wheel and I fixed it pretty well with VHT Stain Black Wheel Paint. After prepping the area, I sprayed the paint into a cup and used an artist brush to dab the damaged area. It's not perfect, but you would need to look very closely to even notice. I wouldn't spray it on because you would need to mask the wheel and end up with noticeable hard edge.

Thanks so much for the reply. This is reassuring and I'm glad to hear yours was noticebly improved. I am optimistic given the quality of repairs from previous instances. Fingers crossed it comes out well! Will upload pics regardless.

Thank you. This gives me more hope that it won't turn out too noticeably different post repair. I will admit I am going with the person who my Lexus dealer has used for the repair, especially since my wheel/tire package should cover this as I opted for cosmetic coverage. Bravo for addressing it yourself!
