Default Wheel Hop

Is it just me, or is the Wheel hop ridiculous in the IS 500?
Even on wet surface the hop is crazy when roasting or trying to roast the tires. Granted roasting my tires is not the most mature thing to do, but every now and then its fun as heck and we bought these cars for the a lot of reasons and fun is one of them. So focus on the issue,, Wheel hop, Really? in a V-8 F sport Lexus we can't smoke the tires? Anyone else having this issue?

Stock tires? These things are easily upset. I notice that, maybe it feels like wheel hop to you at times. The others on Michelin or Continental tires seem to be happy. I have not seen them complain about this.

There is some kind of pedal dance to do a big Smokey burnout. Can't just mash the gas

I have not experienced significant wheel hop in mine, even on the stock tires. By that, I mean, sure, I've felt a touch of wheel hop of the line, but nothing that I wouldn't expect. I'm on the Continentals now, and they grip even better. No wheel hop in a long time now.

I have not experienced wheel hop, but maybe one or twice and even then nothing significant. I leave long strips of black all over the place! Though not as much lately. The urge has to build up a little more now.

I don't know it lol I just remember reading on here about it. I will hang the *** end out sideways a little, but that's about it. I haven't done a legit burnout in a long time /oldman

What's your opinion on the road noise vs. the stock Potenzas? (I think you said you had ECS02s)

Yes, ECS02's. Not to get too far off the topic, but I think road noise is pretty much comparable between the two. The Conti's aren't super quiet, but neither were the Potenzas.

If you think this is bad don’t try a GTI. Feels like you’re breaking something.

lol yeah. I owned a Mk7 GTI and definitely felt a little bad if I got wheel-spin in first gear because it was always with some serious wheel hop. This car feels so composed by comparison.

Stock tires on MK7s were the worst. I replaced them on both of my GTIs right after taking delivery.
