I placed a custom order for an IS 500 in one of the Lexus dealerships in Ontario, Canada last July. Bearing the global supply issues in mind, I thought that the vehicle won’t arrive until 2024. To my surprise, I got a call from my sales advisor that the vehicle is arriving in 2 week’s time from Japan, and it’s a 2023 MY. Based on the convos that I read, Lexus did not accept custom builds so how did this happen? I still couldn’t wrap my head around how fast the entire process is. Any possible explanations for this?

They either had an identical color combo or they had an allocation and placed the order with your specifics 🙂

A small part of me wishes that it was a 2024 edition, but I can’t complain as it’s such an amazing vehicle. And it has always been my dream car.

More like 407 if possible. I can't stand the 401. LOL. I think it took over from Los Angeles as the busiest highway in N. America.

Congrats on your purchase. Hopefully you'll love the IS500. It is a beast. Sounds like an angry dinosaur above ~3500 RPM. As one youtuber described: " A luxury muscle car". That's exactly what it is.

 

Which wheels will it be coming with? Enjoy your new car. How much is Premium in Ontario now? I was there in Oct 2021 with my MB wagon and it cost me $118 Canadian to fill up with premium. I was very surprised

 

We only have one option for the IS 500 in Canada (not including the LE and SA package) and that is the F Sport Performance trim -- contains all the Premium components sans the power rear sunshade. The wheels are 19" Enkei Gloss Black H/P Wheels but I have yet to see them in person.

If you're asking about premium gas, they're sitting at around $1.44 - 1.46 (USD) / litre in my area, but it varies depending on your location and provider.

 

I didn't know the Canadian spec. So your car sounds like mine but I have the white interior instead of the red. I wanted the Enkai wheels and was able to find a car without the BBS wheels. Iridium is a great colour for these cars, it shows off the lines nicely. My family lives in Niagara on the Lake but used to live in Thornhill.

 

What a beauty! My first choice was an USB 2.0, but then wife said that it’s either Iridium or no Lexus at all, so I had to yield. 😂 Now that I’ve seen this pic, I’m glad we went with that colour.

Niagara-on-the-Lake is a very picturesque town with lots of great ice wines. That’s a lovely place to live in.

 

it's over $2.50cdn for 94 here in hongcouver, we don't get power tilt & telescoping steering wheel or rear sun shades but we do get ML audio and big screen and triple beam LED headlights, like I said a few times before canadian is500 fits in between USA's base package and premium package cuz mine is a 2023 and never came w/ rear sun shades or power tilt and telescope steering maybe they added that in 2024 but i doubt it. The gloss black enkei is not gloss black, more like gun metal

 

Never argue with the Mrs, its not worth it. The iridium hides dirt/scratches well and it looks great. Post some pics once you get yours.
