Will do. Just finished all the paperwork yesterday. Looking into getting PPF, tint and ceramic coating as soon as it arrives, but will have to do a cost-benefit analysis. Also, did yours come with 2 sets of keys? I heard that the dealerships are only handing out 1 on delivery date, then calling you back months later for the 2nd one.

Wow! Your car is the exact one I wanted. 😱 But I had to pick my battles with the wifey. I may win in the colour combination, but that would mean no food for the rest of my life. 😂

Food definitely wins lol
I'm so glad my Mrs doesn't care about my car purchases. I buy them and take care of them anyway 👍

No, I received both keys at delivery. I would not have accepted waiting months for a second key. That is idiotic, for a dealer to think that was acceptable.

It was out of the dealers' control. Lexus/Toyota were simply not shipping the cars with two keys. Sure, a dealer could have possibly gotten a key from the parts depot for their region, but then - why wouldn't every dealer do that, causing a run on the parts and shortages?

I get the shortages but what would one do if they only had one key and lost it? You'd be stuck somewhere with no way to get home.

They gave me a physical key without the fob - not sure on everyone else. So it would have been inconvenient, but I would have had access to the vehicle.

edit: Not sure if you mean if I lost the key while out and about - I'd be kinda out of luck even if I had a spare key sitting at home. I'd need to call a locksmith or dealership either way.

At least you had a second option, so that is not too bad. When did this occur?

February, and I got my second key in early August. It was kinda lame, not going to lie, to finally get the IS 500 I'd been after for months, and come to find out it only comes with one key. However, I felt like there was nothing I could do and thought it'd be petty to walk away just because of the key.

Totally agree on not walking from this awesome car due to a second missing key FOB. I'm surprised this was so recent. We bought a minivan in May of 2022 and I get two key FOB's and a valet key from Chrysler so surprised that Lexus didn't have enough keys to go around. Then you still had to wait seven months for the second key. Well, you have it now

That sure was a long wait. When I asked my dealer how many keys I'm getting on delivery date, they said that they're not sure. I contacted Parts department and asked if I could order a credit card key for my car, but was told that it was not compatible with the 2023 IS 500. I know from other posts in this forum that they actually work. Should I contact other dealerships instead?

Found the post with the PN. Will check with the dealership once the car arrives. If there's only 1 key fob, I'll definitely order one. Thanks!

Also, I just realized that we can have a digital key via Remote Connect -- complimentary for 3 years. The best part is you can share it with your family members; although, you still need the actual key fob to run the car.

Digital key is not the same as remote connect. Digital key allows the driver to actually start and run and drive the car away without the physical key remote or key card. The IS500 cannot have a digital key at all.

On our cars, we have Remote Connect.

On cars like the new RX/NX, they come with remote connect as well, but you have the OPTION to get Remote connect WITH digital key.
