I was able to meet up with some of my Lexus buddies yesterday who own heavily modded ISF's and GSF's. They have headers, exhaust, LCA bushings, Tunes, Air intakes - the whole nine yards. I wanted them to drive my 2023 bone stock to compare it to their own cars.

They pushed it harder than I have and they were blown away. They were blown away with the suspension and how refined it was on taking corners. They said that I wouldn't even need to do anything with the suspension to align with their modded suspension. I know people have said transmission shifts are slow, but they thought it was a non issue in my 2023 especially in manual mode. Honestly in Sport +, I think it shifts just fine coming from a b9 s5.

I was heavily validated with their remarks on the car and I could tell that they were very impressed with this car. They said the IS500 does everything that they had qualms with in their cars which required mods.

I have a friend with a mostly-stock RC F (he has exhaust and intake, but no suspension yet), and he thinks the IS 500 is too soft even in Sport S+. However, I also think I notice that, the harder I drive my car, the better it feels. I think the adaptive suspension actually responds to the driving style that is being employed at the time. So, it will cancel out the body roll a bit more in Sport S+ mode if I am hustling it.

The car felt planted enough in autocross this weekend as well. I could feel the weight, but it wasn't rolling over on itself.

One thing I do miss are the Brembos.

I agree to some kind of smart adaptive suspension going on for sure. I noticed this for example when I was ripping it hard in manual sport + and the car was shifting fast. I moved it back in automatic sport + and I felt the shifts considerably faster then if I just rip it in sport + in automatic from the get go.

its a true car not a computer, just needs to be warmed up to get going.

After a few mountain runs and aggressive driving, I had to get the rotors turned at 7000 miles. I purchased beefier rotors and pads on previous IS models, so I’m just a little surprised I will have to do the same here. But…I love this thing and will do whatever to ensure all sorts of fun motoring can happen. 😜

I do wonder what rotors and pads I might do in the future. Have you looked into that yet?

If you're giving into the way to car goads the driver on like I do, then I could see why! It inspires me to drive needlessly fast. Just took mine for a spin. I love driving it.

LOL!! The car is a devil on both shoulders.

The first time I took my 500 on some twisty roads I was amazed how well it handles and still be comfortable. Honestly, the first thing that came to my mind was the money I spent on my 06 IS350 to make it handle great went to the dumpster lol... only complaint about the 500 are the brakes, really need some better pads, steel brakes lines and better rotors...

^+1 looking forward to seeing what pads and fluid can do, then lines and hope Girodisc comes out with a good set of rotors. Or some solid BBK
