Rain Sensing Wipers
Maybe I am hitting the on/off auto rain sensing switch on the wiper stalk, and not realizing it, and have searched online with no success ... But does the auto wiping feature automatically turn on ... without manually pressing the on/off auto rain switch on the wiper stalk?
A few times, when it was raining ... I noticed the green indicator light confirming the rain sensing feature was active. But I don't recall actually pressing the button.
If the only way that feature works is by manually turning it on, I must be bumping it accidentally. Just odd it only does it ...when it's raining.

About 2 weeks ago, I got in the car on a day it was raining. The indicator was lit ... For the life of me, I just don't remember hitting the on/off switch. Thought there was some "smart" solution (feature), or maybe some Lexus pixie dust ... That magically turned itself on for you when it "sensed" rain. Lol. Maybe they will add that feature in 2024.
Thanks again!
IS and GS's are the lucky ones and can choose between Rain Sense and Intermittent wipers.
The rest of us get Rain Sense or Off. Many times the rain is just a bit too light to trigger the
sensor or changes intensity widely and it would be nice to have good ole' intermittent wipers.

Well that is what the rain sensing wipers are? They don't just regulate the speed at which they wipe, they also detect when its raining and they turn on. You should always keep the rain sensing wipers on (green indicator on). They will not wipe unless if its raining. They will wipe once when you turn the system on as an indication of turning the system on, but then they will stop.

I get the rain/moisture detection, and how it works ... But the green light on the wiper stalk (which indicates the auto wipe is on) was lit, but I don't remember hitting the switch to turn it on. Thought it was getting a weather feed, and turned itself on. Lol.

The odds of a bug landing on the 0.25 square inch portion of the windshield where the optical sensor lies is extremely low. Plus if you have a bug land on the windshield and you don't immediately spray and wipe before it gets crusty, you got bigger issues to deal with lol
