Need help diagnosing inoperative intermittent wipers.
2006 RX330, 203K. I have looked through the available threads and videos and have struck out. I have had this very well kept car for a month and a half and I swear that the intermittents were working when I bought it. All of the other wiper functions seem to work just fine. FYI-I have installed an Alpine iLX-W650 stereo and a backup camera. For the life of me I can't think how that would affect the wipers but it seems that the intermittents were inop when I finished that job but I'm not sure if that's when it started.
Some threads mentioned the wipers stopping in the middle of the windshield, that does not happen on my car. A video showed disassembling the wiper switch and replacing a small relay. I took my switch apart and there is no circuit board and no relay, only contacts, which were all clean and shiny. Somewhere, I saw mentioned that some models have a circuit board behind the glove box, maybe that's what I have but I haven't been able to locate it or even a diagram.
Anybody have any experience with this minor but perplexing malfunction? Thanks.

I was having an issue with the rain sensing wipers on my 2005 RX330, and wasn’t sure why.
I had recently placed a team decal right at the top center of my windshield. Someone suggested it was interfering with the “sensor”. I removed the decal and that was the problem. It’s worked perfectly ever since.
I don’t know if you’ve done something similar, but thought I’d share my experience with you.

My guess is it's an issue with the Rain Sensor. Either it is broken or maybe a wire was disconnected or damaged during your radio install.
I'd trace the wires down from the Rain Sensor to where they go in the dash and see if they travel near the radio.
As mentioned above, the sensor is the black box above the rear view mirror.

Also, since you have the "Auto" on your stalk this means you have auto sensing wipers.
This gets more complicated due to the addition of a "Wiper ECU" added into the circuit so hopefully something simple before digging in deeper.
Would anyone suspect a bad stalk?
Not thinking we have any real evidence to suspect it yet and it's just a switch on the inside with a few pasive components.

Hoping you figure it out and post up your fix for us.
If not we can go in deep if needed but you will need a multimeter to go any further on that and hopefully you don't need to go there.
Oh yeah I'd start there for sure and good ideas to check out already posted above.
