The navigation screen in my 2014 IS-350 has gone cloudy around the perimeter.
It’s on the inside, so no way to clean it. Has anybody experienced this problem?
Lexus dealer where I service told me they can’t do anything, and it’s $4,000 to
replace the whole unit! They suggested I call Lexus and maybe they would help?
Thanks, but no. It’s on the INSIDE of the screen.
It formed on a really cold day last January.
There was also a small amount of powdery residue
on the outside of the screen at the bottom which I
wiped off. I hoped there would be a way to access the
inside of the screen to wipe it off, but evidently not if
what the dealer told me was accurate.
The cover is a separate piece on the 14-16 cars. The cover on the 2014 cars that has/had a TSB for the defective coating...Kind of things you would expect a dealer to know about.
Great! This is exactly the type of info I was looking for. Even out of warranty,
I should be able to get the front cover replaced instead of the entire unit—
it works fine. Can’t tell you how much I appreciate your help. Thanks so much!
