Does anybody know if the puddle lights on the front doors are the same dimensions or parts as previous gens of the IS? I'm hunting for some cheap projector image puddle lights that will work with our car. Seems nobody has done it yet. Thanks!

 

It’s not. The physical shape of the connector on the courtesy door likes is different on the 21’+ IS.

 

Do you have the part numbers to show the difference? Not saying I don't believe you, just want to know how you know for sure. Thanks!

 

I bought a set of projector courtesy lights for the 3IS and it didn’t fit my 21’ IS350. You can go to the parts catalog and compare the 2014-2020 and 2021-2022 courtesy light lens assembly to make sure if it is indeed different.

The part I found is:

81230-30200

and it apparently fits 2021 and 2020 (and everything prior).

 

Very strange, it could be they send me an entirely wrong projector courtesy light. Thanks for verifying, I will try getting another set of projector lights then,

 

I mean I could be wrong. I'm very inept at looking up Lexus part numbers and usually only trust calling the service/parts, but every time I call it feels like I'm twisting their arm and this would be no exception. The Lexus Parts website is also a hot mess, so I used this website: www.lexuspartsnow.com. My point is you should verify yourself lol.

Let me settle the debate for you. I bought a set of high-res glass lens puddle lights on my 22 IS350 from @LeonCarbonFiber for $30 off instagram. He offers Lexus logo and F Sport logo emblems and the ones he sells are universal for most Lexus models as the connectors are all the same. I've seen them installed on 14-20 IS and 2021+ IS with no issues. The angle of the lens is adjustable unlike others so the image will project perfectly flat on the floor given that our puddle light is at an angle. I did hours and hours of research on this and I couldn't find any other adjustable, high quality projector. I wanted an image that didn't look cheap or distorted, and 6 months into having these installed, these still meet the criteria.

Yup!! Those are it! I always knew he bought them from some Chinese reseller but I could never find the reseller. He has a couple more color options that have color but those are it. The one I got says Lexus and has the logo but the one like yours with just the text more closely resembles the OEM one sold in Japan

 

I didnt even know this was a OEM thing in Japan. Any pics or links of those ones?
