Upgrading to a high mileage is300 ?
I got a 2006 Lexus IS 250 with over 230k miles and never had any massive problems except for a lot of rust, I'm about to buy a 2017 IS 300 with F sport package, red interior seats, one owner, for $24k, from what it looks like it was well maintained, the only problem is that it has 105k miles, I want to keep it for at least 5 years and mod the crap out of it, but my main concern is if the 2017 will be as much trouble free as the old one, anything I should be concerned about? should I buy it?

I have my 15 IS350 with 138k (bought it with 30k ) and I am FBO. No issues at all except certain areas are starting to rust ( rock chips, bad paint job from previous owner, etc).
problem is I without thinking have placed a 1k deposit that’s non refundable for the car

You can look in the Lexus Drivers webpage to see if there is any service done there. Looks like this car is listed at a Lexus dealership, so they should be able to pull up the service history if it was done at any Lexus dealership. I wouldn't always rely on carfax for the service history.

i mean, are you saying that the mods shouldn't be done because the time frame that he's planning on keeping the car isn't long enough? five years seems like a long enough time to justify spending x amount on mods.
