Question Port Installed Options - Rear spoiler and 3M

Hi all. Please forgive the newbie questions. Just picked up a new 2022 IS300 AWD. It came with two Port Installed Options. The rear spoiler and 3M door edge guards.
  • Is the spoiler just attached via tape or glue, or is it screwed in? Salesman said he thinks it screwed, but then if it is a port-installed option, does that mean someone in the U.S. drilled holes through the trunk lid? How does that not lead to rust later? Anyone confirm how the spoiler is attached on these LCI models?
  • The 3M door edge guards "option" also has quite a bit of the plastic film at the bottom of the rear doors. I can see why, the LCI models have a deep cut line at the back doors near the rear wheels. I guess the film is supposed to help with rock chips. Is there any magic to making sure that film stays on? Do you wash and wax as you would the paint? Or is something you would remove before any paint fading occurs?
Thanks!!

It's screwed on through the middle and tape long the outer edges to prevent water seepage

Thanks. Is it your experience that they are quality products with professional installation at the port? First time I've had a part like that installed at a port vs. at the factory. I hope so - the items were listed on the actual window sticker but they are noted as Port Installed Options. Hoping Toyota/Lexus corporate is involved somehow (surely they are). The paint match looks excellent to me on the spoiler, so that is a good start!

My car doesn't have the 3M Door Edge Guards, but it still has the protective film near the bottom/rear of the rear doors. I believe that it is standard issue.

The 2016 IS 300 AWD I used to have also had this film, and I didn't do anything special to keep it on. It was starting to look a bit dirty toward the end of my ownership even though I washed the car twice a month.

Thanks. Good to know! I thought that film was part of the Edge Guard tape since it is also clear.
