Default Multimedia Failure after firmware update - Need Help !!

Hi there,
I have issue with 2015 Lexus IS250 multimedia. it's failed after firmware update. In details, when firmware update finished and screen has been written "turn off engine and then turn it on to finish update", I turned it of and turned engine on but after that multimedia isn't turning on. Firstly it says "Checking Map disk is in progress" after few restart with same message it says "A program can not be read. Please consult a dealer" and it doesn't turns on.

Problem is that I am in Georgia (Country in Europe) not in US and car is imported from US. So Lexus Dealer in Georgia told me that they couldn't solve my problem because Lexus Europe and Lexus US is totally different ones so they couldn't even enter in my multimedia system with their computer.
As they explained maybe problem is with Map micro sd card because when I updated firmware, multimedias firmware is new (updated) and map sd card is older one. so now I need new map SD card with new(updated) map software to coincide with new firmware.

Please let me know if anyone has any information about this because another way I have to change full multimedia system which costs a lot of money here.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Please see attached photos for details.

Welcome to the forum!

Sorry you are having these issues.
To comment on what they told you:
- Problem is that I am in Georgia (Country in Europe) not in US and car is imported from US. So Lexus Dealer in Georgia told me that they couldn't solve my problem because Lexus Europe and Lexus US is totally different ones so they couldn't even enter in my multimedia system with their computer. That's not true...if the car has an OBDII connector their Techstream should connect to the vehicle just fine. Realistically it wouldn't help anyways as the unit is not functioning.
- As they explained maybe problem is with Map micro sd card because when I updated firmware, multimedias firmware is new (updated) and map sd card is older one. so now I need new map SD card with new(updated) map software to coincide with new firmware. That is definitely not accurate. I have a 2014 that I've updated the firmware and still have the original Micro SD card. The card only contains Map data which has no bearing on the firmware installed in the vehicle.

I would start simple and disconnect the battery for minimum 10 minutes.
While the battery is disconnected, remove the Micro SD card.
After 10 minutes or more, reconnect the battery.
Start the car and let the media unit boot up...when it asks for the card, insert the Mirco SD card.
Let the process complete and see if it starts working then.

Does it give you that message even with the Micro SD card removed?

The condition you describe about the constant restarting is referred to as "boot loop".

Doesn't write any messages, even not booting not loading. When I start engine shows black screen with message "Checking map disk please wait a moment" doesn't matter micro SD card is in car or its removed.

I have removed radio fuse from driver side fuse box, after 20 minute placed back but doesn't matter. Starting with message Checking map disk and after few restart with this message it says A program can't be read...

How can I solve if it is boot loop? I think firmware update doesn't finished and at this moment there is no firmware installed. because during update process when it says "park vehicle in safe place, turn off engine and turn it on again" When I turned off engine and turn it on the update didn't continued started same message I have now. (Checking map disk is in progress)

I think you need a new radio...there may be no way to fix this.

The same thing happened to me and seems to be a huge issue for Lexus, more importantly for us users. This started back in 2016 I believe and was a big deal. Lexus however pretends that they never heard of this problem and wants thousands of dollars to fix their firmware glitch.
