Default “Audio Off” at startup

Hello, first time owning a Lexus (2017 Is200t). I usually use my iPod/USB/Bluetooth to play music but every time I turn on the car, it would start as “Audio Off” and then I would always have to select the source, is it normal?

I don't think I've experienced this. I had a 2016 IS 300 AWD before, and it would automatically start streaming music over Bluetooth if available. Granted, I was using my Android phone and, at the time, Pandora. Hopefully someone with an iPod could chime in.

Might be worth taking a spin around the car's settings to see if there's some option that needs turning on.

Doesn't happen to me but sometimes my music doesn't play automatically. It's more like my phone stopped doing that but haven't looked into fixing it at the moment since it's a minor thing to me.

You head unit could be going bad?

Thanks for the inputs! I’ll see if a reset will resolve it, I notice when I leave it on FM radio, it stays in FM source at startup like how it should. If headunit is going bad, good reason for me to upgrade to 10inch CarPlay down the road

Nothing wrong with your head unit that I'm aware of.

Mine does the same thing, which frequently results from me streaming from an iPhone over USB.

Probably the vehicle defaults to the last known source, which it must re-initialize whenever you unplug your iPhone from the last time. It's quite annoying, actually.

The car remembers your last input, so if you change it to USB it won't play unless you plug in your phone. I always leave it on Bluetooth. Sometimes when I plug it in while on Bluetooth, audio will stop, then I will hit the volume up or down on steering wheel and 50/50 it'll start it the music again. If that doesn't work, I'll put it into USB.

Leave it on bluetooth basically
