Default Parking Camera - Lexus is 300h

Hi guys, my lexus is 300h did not have the oem parking camera installed as an optional extra. Anyhow, i bought an aftermarket one specifically to suit my model, does anyhow know a route through which i can run the cable from the back out to the center console? It does not necessarily have to be for IS 300h specifically, i assume same would apply for IS 350. I would ideally, if at all possible opt to go the standard oem route. Any info on this would be hugely appreciated.

I would presume the camera cable would need to run from the back to the center console, or could Lexus have left a cable going from the center console to the trunk which the camera could simply plug into?

Did you pull the trunklid liner to see if your car is prewired with a plug? If so, you just clip/tap into the wires using the wiring diagram from a thread floating around here. I did it myself recently with a $50 camera off Amazon that looks OEM.

If your car is prewired for it, the only reason to get into your center console is if the camera actually needs 12v IIRC, you can't get 12v from the connector or the reverse lights since is less than that, I believe they are between 6 and 9v.

No i did not. Will check to see if it is pre-wired. Would you expect it to be, i mean was yours?

My car did not come with one, but luckily I found a connector and was able to tap into the wires.

Hopefully you will be able to find one too.

I drilled into the plastic trunklid trim and the trunk lid to feed the camera harness through, it was very simple.

I am attaching a screenshot of the camera i bought (still being shipped). Did you have something similar?

That specific thread you mentioned in your initial post, the one with the wiring diagram, any chance you could send me a link to it?

Default Putting in a OEM Reverse Camera

Is there a way to connect an OEM camera so that I don't need to cut wires or make a hole in the boot of my Lexus IS300h? Thank you.
