Installing this lovely accessory has been described as "plug and play" but I'm not sure what this means....would someone, please, elaborate, step by step for me? Any spfvial tools needed...is wiring already there....?

How has the trunk sills hold up after all this time? I would love to have the extra lighting, but I'm also concerned about scuffing them compared to the scuffing up regular plastic ones.
