Hello there,
I'm living in Quebec and I was wondering if I should do the rust proofing on my brand new is350 ?
The best place in my opinion doesn't drill holes and do everything carefully.
Here's some pictures to visualize what they will do (it's not my car but someone who did it yesterday, in other words I won't be their first is350 they do it)
Do you guys think something bad could happen ?
Is it worth it in the long run?
Thank you to anyone who takes the time to answer my questions !! (I'm new to this Lexus thing and really bad with cars in general unfortunately)

Personally, I understand why people want to apply rust proofing but I would never have anyone take my car apart to try and protect it..I would be worried about rattles and things like that after. I have a friend who has a 10 year old Scion that has never been rust proofed and still has he same exhaust and is car has no rust on it. It all depends on how long you want to keep it but I would never, this is just me, rust proof my cars. My daily driver is 6 years old and been driving in all sorts of conditions (salt and sand) and again, no issues whatsoever. It is a personal preference obviously

If your friend lives in Ontario, their winter is NOT like ours haha!
The majority of Quebec has salt in the winter, as opposed to sand.
These cars aren't prone to rust (like a late 90s early 2000s Civic or Elantra). Wash it on the regular in the winter and you're going to be fine.
My 2017 IS is winter driven for the past 5 years, never rust proof and it's fine.
If you check in the user manual, it even says not to rustproof the car and they're right.
My 2011 IS and 2012 CT200h never got rust proof either and they were fine.
I rust proofed my '19 at a Krown, and I'll never do it again. The spray leaks everywhere, plugs up the drain holes, gathers on the control arms and attract dust, dirt, hair and all sorts of road debris that make the whole underside worse than if it had been left alone. These idiots will also spray bushings and boot covers even if you tell them not to, causing them to swell. I applied dielectric silicone grease underneath the plastic caps over the holes they drilled, and will never bring it back for a retreatment.
These cars simply don't need it as long as you bring it to a DIY wand wash once a week and spray out the wheel wells and underbody, cleaning out the control arms / springs / dampers area as thoroughly as possible. It's been almost 3 years and the underside still looks good on my car. My brother drives a 2016 car that came from Quebec, and has never been rustproofed, and it's just fine with regular washes.

The Petro Canada car washes over here spray under the car and they're touchless, it's the best thing to keep the car clean in the winter.
