3is rattles!
So I just upgraded from my old 07 IS250 that had 270k miles to a 2015 IS350 F-Sport with 55k miles. The car drives amazing. Feels like an M3 coming from my old 250 but the noises it makes drives be insane. So there’s loads of audio rattles from the bass, which my old 250 did not have whatsoever(until I put a 15 in the trunk). Then the creaky plastic noises from the center console are awful as well, it sounds like a plastic nerf gun or something. But the thing that’s really driving me crazy, is this rattle that sounds like it’s coming from the gauge cluster. The sound vaguely reminds me of a like a bobble head that’s been aggressively “bopped,” or like a steel BB being dropped in a Rubbermaid tub. Has anyone else experienced this specific rattle? I’ve spent an hour searching for answers but found nothing on this specific rattle. It happens when I hit a bump with the front left tire especially, but it continues shortly after the car settles from the bump, which makes me think it has nothing to do with the suspension or anything like that, really sounds like it’s just behind the gauge cluster. HELP

I had some of the same issues coming from a 2IS to a 3IS, and I just feel that the build quality of the 3IS is not on par with the 2IS. Anyways, I also had the center console lid noise and found out that there are supposed to be little rubber feet underneath the lid. Mine looked like someone chewed them off. Some people buy rubber feet, but there is a Lexus part number somewhere for these, because that is how I got mine, and it fixed the rattles without issue.

it ended up being a nut that had got lose...it was driver side, under the steering wheel where your legs go. Ended up being close to airbag down there. I basically removed all the panels under by driver side steering wheel, there was a piece of steel with a bunch of nuts in it, one was lose.
