Did you just do the drain and fill with the front end up on the ramps? I was planning on doing that but i read places people are saying to make sure the car is level. And i do not feel like putting it up on 4 jack stands for the fluid drain and fill. let me know please, i also only have two jack stands lol. And how important is tech stream? I plan on doing it without techstream, bad idea or no?

You can use a OBD2 scanner ( i use mx link) You can get trans temp with that. Make sure the car is level, at the temp (I did between 105-113) but that could be wrong. There isnt much info on our car about this. Also the car should be running when you check the level from the bolt on bottom of the pan.

Vehicle *MUST BE LEVEL*. Otherwise, you will fill to the incorrect level and the fallout will be above your pay grade for sure.
You can put the vehicle into temp detection mode with a simple paper clip - no Techstream needed. Search around the forum for how to do it.
The entire trans fill process is pretty well documented in the service manual if you care to pay for 24 hours of use and download the appropriate sections. That's what I did, anyway.

TIS shows no need to jump the terminals for the 2021 MY. It also says you need to work the shifter N to D rapidly for 12 seconds (or more), where the 2020 and earlier require pins 4 & 13 to be jumpered before working the shifter for only 6 seconds (or more) then removing the jumper to engage idle control. So, the procedure is different depending on the model year.
New member here ,
Sorry if I'm asking a question thats already been answered but for my 2021 is 350 with the AA81E transmission what you're saying is we don't need to jump or cross the obd11 mentioned?
Also the car care nut mentioned that for the 8speed trans we have to press the oil cooler button and lock with an Allen key to open up the lines for fluid to move correctly through the lines but did not specify when to remove the pin like after refill and correcting the fluid I'm assuming if the 2021 is 350 even has this pin.
If someone can put a link or the proper instructions for thr 2021 is 350fsport rwd that would be great. Appreciate you guys more than you know!
The links within the posts don't seem to work. I get an error.
Can anyone recommend why this is the case?
I just got here through a search on transmission fluid, probably you did too. I'm guessing the links are dead because most of this thread is a few years old.
If you're talking about the links to the service manual, I'm not sure those ever worked. They're behind a paywall. I strongly advise you to get a copy of the pertinent section if you plan to do this correctly.
Yes, there are a couple of links in this post. I assumed it was an extract or screen shot of the key sections.
To get a copy of the section, I assume you have to pay and use TechStream or similar from Lexus?

I don't think anyone has ever posted a link to Lexus TIS that wasn't behind a paywall, since they all are. If they uploaded a jpeg or something, it should still be there. Or perhaps the mods were ordered to remove them by Lexus proper. No idea.
It's pretty cheap to get one-day access to TIS. Is this something you really want to skimp on?
What MY Lexus do you have?
