Question Battery replacment?

’14 IS250 AWD…

I did a search for this, and got no definitive answer, in fact, it generated more confusion, like everything from needing to reset your radio presets (plausible), to the car not starting, to it wipes/resets the ECU and/or NAV unit, to you must go to the stealership, and have you entire car “reset”.

So I’m looking for some answers that reflect a true hands on experiences.

Sooo…can I replace my own battery, and what are the true ramification or issues by doing so, if any?

Thanks!

I have a 16 200t. I had AAA replace my battery at my house. The only thing I had to do was reset my clock as I recall. I assume it would be the same for a 250.

I swapped mine with an Interstate. Nothing to reset or program. All radio stations and settings/preferences were held in memory. Easy as pie.

Depending on how long you take you would have to adjust the clock, but other than that you'll be fine.
It's not like BMW where you have to program the battery to the car and then reinitialize everything.

Recently done this myself actually, only need to redo the clock for the amount of time the battery was disconnected, replaced with a group 34 battery with a height adapter.

I've also had to take out the battery before. No issues. Only thing I do is when reconnected I don't start the car right away, only to accessories. I notice the infotainment has to reboot/reinitialize.
