Default Broken Seibon trunk warranty

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has a picture of a broken TL14LXIS-C seibon trunk that I can see for reference. They want a picture that they want it destroyed before they will send me a new one but I want to make sure I am doing it correctly. If anyone has a picture on how they destroyed there's, it would be appreciated. I won't be able to use mine anyways so I won't use your picture, it's just a reference on how people destroyed it. Been having difficulty with seibon and their warranty and customer service is horrible to deal with. Just don't want them to come back and say sorry we can't do that, Hard time trusting them anymore,

This seems a little sus, no offense .... but ...

They are wanting you to destroy it? or send them pictures of what is wrong with it? How about you show us pictures of what's wrong with yours?

If they are wanting you to destroy it, I'm sure any method of destruction would work. Take a sledge hammer to it, saw it in half, step on the middle of it and pull up and snap it in half, or better yet, ask them for clear instruction on what they expect from you, in writing, so you know what to do to get your warranty. If all they are wanting is to make sure it's no longer usable / sellable before they send you a replacement, then any form of destruction should be fine and sounds fun to be honest lol

... but this would be the first I've heard, in all my years of dealing with, and reading about others experience with Seibon, of them asking for destruction over a return. In the rare cases there is a legit issue they will replace it, but they would want the first one back so they can refurb it. So good luck my dude, you won't find a picture here, because they don't exist.

Yea.... that'll be a hard pass for me dawg. If you would just man the hell up and actually tell us "Hey, I got a slightly messed up seibon trunk that I want to hold onto instead of destroying for a replacement" someone may have actually said "sure, I hate that company, they screwed me so screw them".

I don't know you, but I bet your eyes are brown in color. Not genetically speaking, but simply to being full of ****. lol. "I want to make sure i'm destroying it properly" good lord... I don't know if your IQ is registerable on the scale... Sorry, not sorry.

I'm new to this particular forum, but have been around forums for the past 20 years, and I'd vote to have you banned from this place for fraud, and with your first ever post too? The further you dig, the better it gets. lol

The definition of destroy is to damage it to the point of no restoration or function for it ever again. Just smash the entire hood and cut it up.

It is a requirement of Seibon that you destroy the damaged product before they'll replace it. They just want to make sure you're not trying to scam them into getting a 2nd product for a friend or something.

You need to break it up so it's unusable. Stomp on it slightly over a ledge, run it over with a truck... whatever. Try to get it into pieces if you can.

Probably best to cut it in half like in the video there.

Cool, this is the first I've seen of them doing this. I wish they would have done that for me. On my previous car/build I had some issue with a hood and they had me return it.

It's also no where to be found in their warranty / claim process terms

https://seiboncarbon.com/terms-and-conditions/

But evidently destruction is a possible option, as seen in the video you provided.

But let's be real here, it sure does seem like the OP is attempting to get a 2nd trunk and not destroy the current trunk, which is a unethical thing to do and people abusing warranties and things of that nature is bad for us consumers as prices can/will rise and or cause them to make make their warranty policies more strict. If a person was truly unsure on what is expected from them to get their warranty, the best thing would be to get clear instruction from Sebion customer service, not create a new account and ask for pictures on a forum. Just reeks of shady business, and I hope that anyone here would not want to be associated with that type of potential scam by helping make that happen.

If the OP is legit, well then I'll feel like an a**hole, and apologize, but still, asking for pictures of someone else's trunk is not the proper way to file a warranty claim.

It's not something that they list in their policies or anything. I've seen it mentioned on other forums by people who received damaged goods, and by a few youtubers. It seems once you're making headway with their warranty claims process, they'll ask that you destroy the faulty product and provide picture proof of its destruction.

Not sure if OP is legit or not. I'll admit it does seem odd to ask for pictures of a particular part and not just a general picture of a Seibon product being destroyed. Buuut I just felt like pointing out that the process of destroying damaged products isn't unheard of.

Yeah it's because he wants to use it so he can get his replacement LOL. Major scam alert. Good luck to him.

Seibon isn't the only company that will require you to destroy the product. The shipping cost to/from plus repair time on just about any carbon/fiberglass piece will greatly outweigh the time it would take to just reproduce the piece. Imagine if you had to ship a hood back that had some cracks in it, then wait for them to receive it, then wait to repair it, and then wait to have it shipped back again lol. You replacement would take months to go.
