Default Are these two center console pieces swappable?

Was wondering if my 2014 lexus is350 f sport with ML & navigation would be able to accept the dial controller instead of the jog. I am attaching photos for reference. I currently use the top one and was wondering if the bottom photo could be used in my current cars setup.I prefer the dial over the jog controller and I like that it has a spot for a phone so thats why I am interested in this.

Default Console swap

I was able to swap the consoles in my 2014 IS250. My armrest looked like your stock one. The only problem is that I was not able to use the back button.

Your joystick armrest looks a lot more padded where did you get this one? Looks to be newer model yr part.

It is from a newer model (2017+) as it has the stitching, better cup holders and the "enter" button on the sides of the palm rest.

Maybe the guy you quoted knows of best price to find them, but as far as I am aware they are just found (used) on places like ebay, car-parts.com, monster auto, ect from car's being parted out, or order new from a dealer (more expensive option).

I've been wanting to do this mod myself, but haven't gotten around to it.

Here is a install video of the conversion though

It is a newer model part. I found it at a salvage yard. I was able to buy the whole console for 100 dollars. This was out of a 2017.

To clarify for the original poster though, @TophersGRG , I am unsure if joystick to wheel dial swap is a direct plug and play and would work. I'm heavily leaning towards it not working as I would think your navigation system is designed to recognize only that style of input, I doubt it would recognize a wheel control vs a joystick as they respond to those two different styles of input differently on the screen.

Another reason that leads me to believe that the input style swap would not work is because if you look at the aftermarket android headunits that are for sale, you have to select which input style you have, which comes with a different connector harness depending on which you have. If they were directly swappable, I would think it wouldn't matter and the harness plug would be the same, but they are not.

I believe that TxasLexus did a joystick to newer model joystick swap, same input style, just newer, not a different input method swap like you are asking about.

I remember watching this video before it's not straight plug and play though need to trim off some pieces. I probably won't swap unless mine breaks.

Yeah I thought about mentioning that but figured that you or anyone interested would watch the vid and see that. I personally have no problem with trimming those little pieces off, also I know Rodney sold his car and put everything back to stock and the original one clipped right back in with no issue even with those little lips trimmed off, so I personally see no issue since if for some reason you wanted to go back to the OEM one, it will snap back on and nothing is wrong.

But I totally understand, not everyone is okay with trimming pieces off their car. I am am addicted to customizing things and plan to keep this car until it dies, so I am more comfortable about making modifications than most will be.
