Default 2022 IS Models release date

Just wondering if there is any info on the 2022 models yet? I have scoured the internet and reached out to Lexus with no luck. I do understand that there is a chip shortage.

Unfortunately, someone turned into my IS 250 in an intersection and just got word it was totaled. Now in the market but totally unsure...

With all of the delays with this chip shortage, do you think that is going to happen?

I forgot how soon 2022 is. Maybe Lexus skips the 2022 model altogether cause it feels like only 5 people got the 2021. Jk lol. Seriously though, I don't think there will be any changes.

5 people? Lol.

A ton of people got the ‘21 IS. I see them everywhere.

I actually thought the same thing. They're just going to skip right to 2023 lol

I've seen 4. 2 in the parking lot, 2 on the road, and I live in San Diego.

Since it was a total refresh for 2021, I wouldn't think 2022 has anything but minor changes, if any at all.

I was just kind of hoping there would be some different interior color options

Wireless Carplay would be a welcome addition, but yeah ... probably not going to be much in the way of additional features for 2022.

having used both wired and wireless CarPlay, I much rather the wired option, similar to the way Mazda does implements the nav/phone/CarPlay integration.

My wife and I are looking for a 2021 IS350 F Sport. My local dealer (2 locations) has 1. It sold while we were about to take it for a test drive Saturday. They have 5 others that are being built and shipped that already have deposits on. Only 1 does not have a deposit. It is Infrared and I love that color but my wife wants to see it on the IS in person before buying. I cant believe I am going to have to put a deposit on a car just to hold it to see it. This market is like nothing I have seen in my lifetime. I have tried other dealers in a 500 mile radius and there are not many out there and most of them have a attitude about buying from out of state right now. Probably because they can sell it locally right now with minimal effort. I also asked my local dealer about just ordering a 2022 and he is supposed to get back to me today to let me know when ordering will open.

Infrared is gorgeous on the IS. I happened to see one in the wild near my Lexus dealer (probably recently purchased from there as it had a temp tag). It goes perfectly with the black/dark accents on the F Sport.

Your experience sounds similar to mine. My wife and I were considering putting a deposit down on a car that was supposed to arrive from another state two days later. However, we lucked out and it somehow arrived the same day and were able to test-drive and purchase it. Two other IS 350s sold the same day as well.

The one car company not affected by the shortage is Toyota. They stockpiled stuff before everything went south.
