For Android users, maybe someone wants to try it out. I'm on iOS.

I've had many crowd funded projects that were complete crap I don't have high hopes for any. They work to some point but nowhere near as promised and expect lots of bugs, not saying this isn't good product I don't have first hand exp but just throwing out my 2 cents for crowd funded market in general.
The Wireless Android Auto Dongle seems great & very usefull, esp. during short trips. However before ordering one for me, I have a "stupid" question..
Is at the same time your mobile connected via bluetooth to both dongle & car's multimedia system or only to the AA dongle?

Bluetooth is part of Android Auto. It has to be on and the phone connected to the unit. So your phone will be connected via Bluetooth to the system and also connected via wifi to the android auto dongle. It will replace the cord for the data transfer. I'm still using the unit and it works great most of the time.
So, If I understand well, the phone is connected to the dongle via wifi, while at the same time it is paired with the car's system via bluetooth, as it used to be, if no cables were used, right?
I thought that mobiles were paired with the dongle via bluetooth...and not wifi.
Once a mobile is connected to the dongle, how are you making calls? using AA, the unit's tab or both?

So bluetooth handles the pairing but the wifi handles all the data traffic. Bluetooth will only handle the phone call audio after it is connected.
