Was trying to jump a car with an external stand alone battery, but switched the terminals on my car battery (brainfart I know). Cables were only on the car for less than a minute before I realized my mistake. What are the chances of lasting damage? Electronics inside the car are fine. The starter clicks once, but then nothing... Thanks!

 

If you are really lucky, and all failsafes worked according to plan, you should have no more than a bad battery and a blown fuse.

 

Hopefully so! I'm having trouble figuring out which fuse would have been blown. Something along the lines of a "main fuse"?

 

someone recently posted the sane thing a week or 2 ago I think he said in his case he fried something.

 

Hope this video helps. Look for 120amps fuse and especially the alternator fuse, which is what 9 out of 10 times the fuse which is blown in such situations.
