Default Unbelievable but need help 2016 is350 awd

Where to start...

i have a 2016 lexus is350 awd with 50k miles on it.

had it parked in the garage at work and came back to the battery dead, so had got a jump start from geico roadside and was all fine. Battery has not been changed since purchasing the car so i went to advanced auto (Mistake) to get my battery swapped out.

i asked for which battery works with my car and he had shown me a diehard battery that i purchased, afterwards while installing the battery, the car terminal sparked and the alarm started going off, after realizing, the store employee said he had put the terminals on the oppositely and now my car wont start. Affer a mental breakdown in my head on how i should have not picked advanced auto, i asked for my old battery to be put back on and jump the car, as i figured, car is fried. it barely holds a charge and alot of lights are on the dashboard when starting, i had it then towed to the mechanic to check out as i realized this employee was clueless. The mechanic said the car has a safety “fuseible link box or block” that should have taken the damage he “thinks”, the part will arrive next week, does anyone have any insight on what might have happened and if i should be worried, thanks.

Welcome to the forum!

Seems like a it of bad luck you're having.
It's true the larger fuses (fusible links) under the hood would have blown to protect the rest of the vehicle electronics.
Once you can find all the blown ones and replace them, you should be back up and running without any issues.
It's not going to be cheap.

Once he replaces the block, it should either fix everything or mostly everything. There may be a fuse or two that could have blown outside of the block.
But once the block is in, if something is still not working properly it will be easy to track down the fuse for it at that point.

just one more question,

he had to order this block and it has to come in, if there is also a fuse that needs to be changed as you said, do you think that would also have to be ordered or is it widely available? Thanks

Likely widely available...depending on the fuse.

Advance auto parts has insurance for just this sort of thing. File a claim and have Lexus fix it.
