That's true, he didn't say they were both from the NX. I know one was for sure, just not sure about the second one. Nonetheless, the impression give is that they were from an IS, since we are in the IS forum and it was stated that even one was from an NX. It's a great way to frame a half truth to make it appear like something it's not.

Sort of an insider's look at what's going on. Food for thought.
@E46CT Can you post a link to the thread where the Lexus tech on Reddit states this? I'd like to read the information for myself...thank you.

since you got an IS200T, i would recommend you getting extended warranty from the dealer just to be on the safe side

I'm at 42k miles on my 200T currently and so far I've replaced the vacuum regulator 3 times and my water pump was just also replaced under warranty due to it leaking. Besides that, I was having misfires at about 36-37k miles and replacing my spark plugs at 38k solved the issue.

that's exactly what i did and right now warranties are dirt cheap as dealers are having trouble moving new cars even while their used-car inventories might be doing well in terms of sales. i was able to buy one in march for 1k which is ridiculously inexpensive and i'm covered (under the highest tiered plan, platinum, i believe) until march of 2026 with no mileage limit/unlimited mileage. the selling dealership was lexus carlsbad, in case any californians are interested in knowing.
