Anyone have any ideas to cover the cup holders when not in use. I frequently have a passenger and they sometimes complain that they have no place to rest their left elbow because of the cup holder “pits”. I found a hand-made leather cover/insert on Etsy (see 2 pics) but they cost $70/cup. I was thinking maybe an ashtray with cover could work (see Amazon pic) but they normally don’t state the height or diameter of the ashtray so it might be too wide and not fit or it might stick out on top. Obviously it needs to be flush to be comfortable. Any ideas??

 

$70 per cup? either way, thats seems expensive

maybe measure the OEM and ask Seller what size there's is


might be easier to get locally at an Auto Parts store for ease of return if it doesn't fit flush

 

BTW, while doing a Road Trip, i came across a fix that costs $2.50, you can eat the contents, and it fits perfectly

I just swapped an RC center console in. Problem solved, passenger has a proper armrest and we both get usable cup holders.

As far as low cost solutions go, the capped ash tray looks cheap and quick. Shame those covers are 70 a pop, feels excessive.

There's gotta be custom Leather companies that would do it for less but there would need to be a certain level of interest and i use both cup holders regularly


if your super serious, save those pics, message a few custom Leather shops, sure you could find a better deal than $140
