Default Unlocking and locking door delay on the handle

I had my Lexus is 200t since 2016. I guess I noticed this like a year ago that when I press the lock senor on the door handle or grab the door handle, there is like at least 2 seconds delay. Is there a fix for that?

I can't help you there, but I picked up the same model and year Lexus the end of October. Any impressions, issues besides this to share? I love the car!

Mine has done that on occasion, but only in maybe the last few months of ownership. Around the same time, I noticed I got a "low key battery" warning randomly. Maybe your key battery is also low?

Nope, that also sounds about right. The door sensor locks are never right away. But sometiems it does vary from I'd say 1-2 secs. Which feels like a long time when you're on the move.

I just did it yesterday where I grabbed the door and pulled before it unlocked.

For the locking sensor, hold at least 1 sec, and even if I pull my finger off before it locks, it will still lock a moment later as I'm stepping away.

Try changing the key fob battery if it's never been done. Also, when you need to unlock, put the whole palm inside just like grabbing the door handle. And when you need to lock it, put two fingers, one up and the other beneath at the same time (like grabbing with your index and thumb) the lock area - this is written in the car manual as well.

just to put my own experience, I noticed that the key fob feature stopped working when parked on an extremely busy street. perhaps the car shuts down looking for the fob when there's too many other key fobs and cars around (midtown Manhattan) to preserve battery life.

Are you describing the delay in unlocking immediately after locking the doors?

When touching the lock "detent" on the outside of the handle it both locks and you hear a chirp.
For times when the loud surrounding makes it tough to hear the chirp you can confirm the doors
are locked by tugging the handle during the first couple of seconds after locking. Waiting just
a couple of seconds and try again and the doors should unlock right away.

If you are experiencing a pronounced delay when first approaching the already locked drivers door
try the passengers door and see how long that sensor takes to react. If the passenger side is quick
then the drivers' door sensor is the problem. If the passenger side is also reluctant to unlock then
you ought to try the other fob, change batteries, the key seems to be the culprit.

My 2021 IS has a long noticeable delay as well. My 2018 NX was pretty instantaneous as is my wifes RX.

If a computer has an error code it will be in the format of one letter followed by four numbers.
Example: B1234

Without knowing what the code is you'll likely never be able to fix it...at least the code will give you a starting point as to what to look at.
Every error has a related code, that way no matter where in the world the car is the code will always be the same for the same error.
So if your car has a B1234 and my car has a B1234, then it's the same error.
For them to tell you ECU Decentralization (or whatever it is in French) isn't a code nor does it help at all.
