Hot Damn this was OVER 3 YEARS AGO... Surprised @ getting email...lol

Anyway, a buddy/mechanic checked it out & fixed it (after hours... lol) but once again that was over 3 years ago... Maybe try @Kevanh's post?

I had the same issue, dealer replaced the gas cap and wire under warranty. Keep the latch running smooth with silicone spray; can even hit the wire with the spray.
