I am pretty sure that's not true, wouldn't the caliper say brembo on it? Also, I don't think the IS has ever been offered (even on the site) with brembos.

The no longer produced IS-F had Brembo's.
F-Sport models are using rebranded Stoptech brakes, which are pretty decent brakes.

Edit: Evidently I was misinformed, I heard from a few sources that 2IS and 3IS F-Sport were being producted by stoptech but maybe that changed, was only on certain years/models, or the info was not correct. For best answer see Sasnuke's response below.

well my Lexus 2014 IS350 AWD has Advics

Advics have been a known company that works with Brembos and in the Honda/Acura community, both are the same company that make higher end brakes

i.e. a big thing on the 7th gen. Accord since it has garbage Brakes oem is to take the Acura RL "Big Brake" or Advics, maybe then take those to a Machine guy and get that pesky ACURA logo off

then take it to Powdercoat guy and have him do his magic

then take them to Installer

already having "Big Brakes" and awesome stopping power even being OEM, i think thats why a lot of Members will paint the OEM since they are pretty darn good

Once the 3IS 250 was discontinued with the 2015 model, going forward (2016+) 3IS all have the same brakes front and rear.
The front caliper on the 2016+ IS are the same ones used on the 2IS 350 (2006 - 2013). Assuming the 2019 has the same brakes, then they are made by Advics...as mentioned above.
Advics makes calipers (and even pads) for a number of different car manufacturers.
Not sure about the rear though...but they aren't anything special.

From what I remember the calipers are Advics and the pads are BMW (Textar) (i was the original and first coast to coast to share this BMW/textar info!) see post history.

Why does is matter you were the first to share this info coast to coast? Lol Do you feel the need to feel special or something?

Important to note: the AWD models get Advics pads, and the RWD F-Sport models get the amazing Textar pads.

@E46CT Textar (aka TMD Friction) is owned by a Japanese company...so I fail to see the connection to BMW...other than they make pads for BMW, and a billion other cars.

Stoptech is the manufacturer of the 2IS F-sport BBK (the ones with blue calipers).

they probably mean it's Brembo style. However, you can buy ISF Brembo front calipers, and GS350 front rotors, they are bolton fit for the front.
