Default Speaker upgrades?

First post!

anyone replace or otherwise upgrade the speakers or system on 2016 is350F? Not real impressed with the sound. Especially at lower levels. Any speaker upgrades help? Not looking at spending a ton on subs amn whole new system. Just minor stuff to help it out

that and any key spots to put sound deadening g?

thanks!

I think the only Lexus sound system I sat in that was good was the 2018-2019 RX. Even the new ES with mark levinson doesn't sound good. Sat in the RC, same story. IS is probably the worst. I added a subwoofer which is a huge improvement but I think I want to upgrade the speakers next.. not sure

upgrading Speakers is always fun!

it all depends on what you want

Crystal clear sounds like for classical music

Super hard hitting bass

Just a small improvement to OEM where its lacking like Tweeters since you already got a sub

i am planning on upgrading when i can afford it, what i would suggest is get USED higher end stuff

i.e. buy a Sub at Best Buy or buy a used one thats cheaper and higher end

i always make sure nothing is blown on site before purchasing but there is usually ALWAYS someone getting rid of a System esp. in CA...speaker components to me isn't worth it to buy new unless its a Deck/Double Din or something like a HU since Audio equipment def. doesn't hold its value

What infinity reference models did you use for the front? Did you have to do any modifications to either the speaker or have to trim around the speaker holes?

dont recall the exact model # of the infinity reference, but they were 4" 2-way.
they needed some modification of the speaker holes-- a dremel would have been nice for this-- i used some tin snips to get it done though.
the tabs on the speakers needed modification (spread out a bit) and two of the tabs had to be bent out of the way.
overall, kinda a pain.
note that these window speakers seem to be fed tweeter only signal as the new speakers only played the highs thru them-- the main 4" cone didnt move at all---i was hoping to add a little mid by going with the 2-way, but got NONE
Ended up putting in 3.5" pioneer "horn" tweeters instead as there was only tweeter signal going there.
The pioneers are VERY bright--- almost too bright-- but am hoping the level out a bit with use
I may do the door speakers to try to level things out-so the experiment is not over yet.

again, i am no expert on car stereo. just some schmuck trying for better sound of of these "luxury cars" that should have come with it in the first place.

i am a DIYer too and have used tin snips/aviator snips but you gotta wear thick gloves and take your time because if you trim too much...its way worse than cutting/snipping too little

FYI...for the time and effort of using Aviator snips or a Dremel, there is a Pre-Made option for the Front Door Speakers for our 3IS without cutting up door front for more common 6.5 Speakers:

you know off hand if the front (doors) with the 6.5" are stock subs? or are they full range?
same for the rear doors? (6.5" and full range?)
