Default Roof spoiler

What kind of roof spoiler does everyone have?
mom thinking of getting one but I’m not sure what’s a decent price on it. I saw some eBay ones that were cheap in gloss black is that good? Anyone have that?

I got a $55 gloss black one from eBay as well, quality looks fine. Still have yet to put it on and I've debated doing it, even having originally bought and returned one in body colour. Will do it once I have someone to assist so it gets lined up correctly, but it appears to fit fine as they're flexible enough. Hoping the provided tape is good quality.

I remember we talked about this a long time ago Automic, still haven't installed?

The tape I got from Ikon was 3m but the thinner strip maybe 3/8". My roof spoiler us now peeled up about a 1/4" on one side. When I redo I will definitely use bigger tape (and remove vinyl wrap to be gloss black) and be sure to get right up to the edges.
My painted spoiler was $125 I think though you got a good deal.

Yeah, I got it in the summer but was too busy and undecided, and now it's raining all the time. I didn't get it from IKON but believe it was one of their distributors. The tape does not look long enough to go all the way around so figured I'd do the ends and most of the leading edge, then whatever's left over for the trailing edge. If you're finding it's not staying down, maybe it's best to go out and get some legit 3M stuff?

Also, did you put the tape right out to the edges? There's a bit of a lip around the underside, so I'm thinking it'll fit more flush to the glass if the tape is run inside of that. Kindof wondering what happens with water getting against the edge of the tape constantly.

the tape ingot was 3m, just smaller than the new stuff I bought to replace with (which i cant find).

I kept in inside the lip you're referring to on the underside. But I did small strips 6-10" long evenly spread across the spoiler. I went to the side edges but likely should really cover those areas better than I did.

I have the Ikon Motorsports roof spoiler as well. For the installation, I just 3M taped the entire thing and it has held up just fine. I also applied it inside the lip you're referring to.

Pulled up an old photo. The vinyl has held up great.

So about what percentage does the tape cover all around? Assuming you went around leading and trailing lengths and sides, how much coverage was there?

Really cant tell you forsure cant remember. Dont think I had enough to do the entire outter perimeter, so I did the 6-10" strips evenly. I may take it off within the next week maybe I'll post old/new.

With new application it will be around the entire perimeter and 2-3 strips down the middle.

Okay so Tungstn bought other tape but Homer just used the skinny tape that came with it? Mine is red and about 1/2" wide, but has no "3M" or other identifying marks; looks generic.

Did you both buy the new 3M stuff locally or get it online somewhere? Want to make sure it's not too thick, so the spoiler sits as flush as possible to the glass.
