IS 300 fuel pump recall?
Hi. I noticed the latest fuel pump recall for Lexus and Toyota includes certain 2018-2019 model years IS 300. I'm wondering if anyone out there has experienced actual
symptoms with the engine stalling due to a low pressure fuel pump? Perhaps the issue is quite rare?
Has anyone noticed anything happening with the other IS versions: 250 or 350? Any idea what happened? It looks like there was a window of time in which they were doing something
different with these fuel pumps......

Since the recall is limited to 2018-2019, any IS250 is safe since the model was discontinued in 2015.
As for the articles I've seem so far, the list of vehicles is definitely not correct.
They list RC300, RC350, GS300, GS350, and IS300...but not IS350.
I can't imagine the IS350 uses a different pump from RC350 and GS350.
Also, which IS300...RWD or AWD...cause one is a V6 and the other a 4 cyl. Turbo...can't see them using the same pump.

Personally I'd do it regardless of whether other owners have seen anything. It's not going to cost any money - just time.

Brand A found that a common gasket that they use in their pumps for the 4 cylinder cars and for their pumps in the V6 cars could fail. All cars with Brand A pumps from the specified period of time will be recalled.
The IS350 in the affected timeline only had Brand B installed, hence, not affected.
Nothing more than conjecture on my part, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if a scenario similar to the one above was the case. Or if the turbo cars do indeed use the same low pressure pumps as the V6 cars.
Well I keyed my IS 350 VIN into the NHTSA web page, and it's not showing a recall, at least not yet.
The Toyota page didn't show it either. I'd be curious to know exactly what happened with these fuel pumps. When you google it, you find some Lexus models have had similar issues over the years, so it's
apparently not a totally new issue.

Doubt it, recalls are pretty serious business because the government is involved. If it was a TSB that’s different, but to issue a recall that means it’s a serious flaw or potential dangerous flaw. Manufacturers can usually pinpoint what batch of cars used what batch of faulty components. If they can’t then they just issue a mass recall since they can’t take any chances.
