Default 2015 Lexus IS 250 not starting. Keep hearing clicking noises.

Car was working fine until this morning. Lights work and everything but every time I try to start the engine, I get some clicking noise and then it shuts off.

here is a video of me trying to start it.

How old is your battery? That's the first thing to check out. It could be too weak to start the car. The battery cable connections could be corroded or the connections to the starter loose.

I’m going to say about 5 years. It looks like it’s the original battery that came with the car.

It sounds like it is new battery time.

Most likely the battery. Use another car to try and jump start it. If that works, it is definitely the battery. If the jump start does not work, it is possibly a loose connection at the battery or ground strap.

Needs a battery. At 5 years you are well past the life expectancy for a Florida battery.

5 years is about the magic mark for under hood batteries.

if the battery is in the trunk, around 7 years or so.

if it's in the trunk AND the car comes from germany, 10 years. some of the bmw guys are rocking 12-13 year old batteries. they're f'ing beasts

Those "German" batteries are also $500 and heavy enough to be used as boat anchors...so by comparison it's nothing special.

This is interesting. What's special about batteries that came from germany?

Lol E46CT says anything from Germany is gods work and superior to anything else in the universe. Take it with a grain of salt.
