I have a 2016 IS350 AWD with an Evo start 2 installed. The antenna is installed right behind the rear view mirror on the windshield. 80% of the time the app works where the car will start but I do not receive confirmation back to the app the car has started. Behind the mirror there seems to be an antenna embedded into the windshield behind the rear view mirror. Does anyone know if their is an antenna built into the windshield? Maybe that is causing interference. For anyone using this remote starter are you receiving confirmation back and where is your antenna installed?

Aftermarket remote starters really arent very popular among lexus owners. Most just use the Lexus Enform Remote services, despite how frustrating it can be at times, regarding shutting off when the doors are unlocked.
As far as your unit not working, i would try moving the antenna maybe? Not sure of the embedded antenna youre talking about. Can you share a pic?
The app does work 80% of the time to start the car. The big challenge is getting notification to the app the car has started. I am not sure what the black pattern is in the windshield behind the mirror. I assumed that may be an antenna. The remote starter antenna is mounted on the windshield above the mirror on the left side. I am try to figure out if the antenna has interference and if there is a better spot for it?

That black pattern is just for sun protection. Like a sun shade I believe, to keep heat and direct sunlight off the mirror and the daylight sensor.
I would try moving the antenna to the left or right of the black pattern.
I'm assuming that your remote starter works like most, it uses a cellular connection to recieve and send back data to your phone and stuff. Is it possible that youre just in an area with bad service?
The EVO start 2 works on a SPRS (Secure Packet Radio Service) network architecture. Two to three years ago the network was not very good but apparently it has improved a lot recently. I have had the remote starter for almost a month and in that month I have received confirmation back twice. In most cases I use the remote start in the morning in the house when leaving for work. Reception may be an issue but I am in a well populated area. This is why I am wondering if other users are having a more positive experience. At this point moving the antenna seems like that only option to hopefully make it work better.
The black dotted pattern is just that...a black dotted pattern.
It's not an antenna or anything like that.
Could the pattern be interfering with your remote start antenna? Maybe...depends what the black dots are actually made of.
The radio antenna for the IS is in the rear windshield.
I think moving the antenna is likely your first step to correcting this.
