Default RES and RES+

My '14 RX350 w/Nav has an app for RES. I installed the app on my iPhone and tried to register it, but found out I don't have the code (something like 20 digits long) that is supposed to come with the vehicle key. I only received two FOBs with the car (no tag with codes). So I e-mailed my SA at Lexus and he said if I have the "RES+" I would have a small antenna on the outside of the windshield. And only the RES+ can remote start. I don't have that antenna, but do I still have RES (just not the RES+)? Should I still be able to lock and unlock the doors from my phone?

What is the difference between RES and RES+?

RES is just remote start via the FOB. RES+ is remote start via the FOB, PLUS remote start and unlocking/locking of doors via the Lexus App. I don't think RES has an antenna on the windshield, but I could be wrong. I have RES installed on a Camry Hybrid and there was no antenna installed, so I assume it's the same with the Lexus RES system. RES+ actually has 2 antennae on the windshield. If you have 2 antennae on the passenger side of the top of the windshield, then you should have RES+. If you have no antenna, then you only have RES (as long as you actually have RES installed since it's an optional accessory). I'm still new to CL so I may not be totally correct, but others should chime in soon.

YEP, RES is remote engine start only. RES+ is the option that includes a phone app with lots of features.

RES+ is about a $1000.00 dealer installed option.

Here is more info.

Lots of info on Club Lexus.

RES does not have an antenna, I'm not sure about RES+. Did you receive a manual for it? I got one for RES. Plus there are stickers on the key fobs and under the hood near the latch. I'd recommend getting in touch with the Technology Specialist at the dealership to help you figure it out and answer your questions. Good luck.

I did not pay extra for RES (or RES+) so unless it was part of a package that came with the car, I don't have it.

I have no stickers on the FOBs, I'll check by the hood latch when I get home. I did not get a separate manual for RES. There are no small antennas on the windshield.

I guess the RES "app" was just made available to download for those that have the system - and to be ignored by those that don't.

Thanks.

Should be a sticker on your door window to tell you which you have installed as well. (if it hasn't been removed). But thinks it's pretty safe to say you have RES only. Decent feature but only works when about 30ft or so from the vehicle. That's the biggest difference.
