Default BUYER BEWARE - Apexi Midpipe

I used to be a huge Apexi fan, as I have had fantastic experiences with their products in the past.

Installed the Apexi AWD Midpipe less than a year ago and the welds on the Apexi logo began to fail a few months after. I started to notice an exhaust leak-ish noise and then it began to get worse over time. One day I had enough and took it to my shop where I discovered this

The other side of the logo was starting to look the same:

other side starting to go

So I sent this to a buddy who is close with Apexi and this was their response:

I replied and said I would give them a call sometime soon. I've since called them a dozen times and they never have picked up or gotten back to me. I've sent them countless emails with no response. I know I am not the only one who has experienced this with the Apexi midpipe.

Their excuse is bull. There is no way something could have hit that exact spot with enough force/precision. The welds on the logo are the only welds that look like this, everything else on the exhaust is like new.

BUYER BEWARE. Don't buy the Apexi midpipe unless you're ready for it to rot away.

I had my midpipe on for a little over a year and I haven't experienced this issue. Maybe wait for some people to verify they also ran into this issue as well and get a group movement started?

i've just gotten the Apexi midpipe installed on my car today, i hope it's just a manufacture defect and not a quality issue on all the midpipes. Hope you can get this issue resolved soon and please update this thread if anything comes up.

do you live in a area that gets a lot of snow? The salt on the roads dont mix well with exhaust pipes. My F sport exhaust which is "stainless" has started rust. Only thing you can try to prevent it is get undercarriage washes

I am currently running this mid-pipe and will be doing an inspection ASAP.

Apexi should make it rite with you. The bottom of your exhaust doesn't show any major impact...

Yeah I am in Wisconsin and our roads are rough. It should have lasted more than 1 winter.

That’s what I thought too. But their customer service was horrible and in addition someone reached out to me who had a similar defect.

I guess what you can start doing is start collecting information about the defects, as much pictures as possible, and any other information to see if there is a common year or specific apexi midpipe that is affected versus apexi midpipes in general. Not too sure if this is possible, but I'm sure apexi would want to make it right if it starts becoming known.
