Default Amber Delete - Front headlight?

was wondering if there is a way to get rid of the amber light on the front headlights on the 2015 is350. I've searched around but haven't found anything, anything that people usually do?

Id prefer it being a nice white led, if possible..

People look for Amber turn signals, bit of a safety risk. As I'm passing people 20mph+ their speed I don't want them confusing my turn signals.

I know I know, speak if safety risks lol.

Also almost positive law in my state is must be Amber. No need to draw unwanted attention.

You can change out for LED if your wanting a more modern look.

Just my opinion! But if you need white can't you just change the bulb. You may need additional hardware to insure you don't get that fast blinking signal.

I see what you’re saying. But my issue is more of how it’s permanent amber while I’m driving. That’s the look I don’t like.

thanks though

if i'm not mistaken the amber reflector is built into the assembly. not only would you have to source clear plastic replacements (not happening) you'd have to open up your headlight and replace them (not happening)

so in other words you're stuck with the amber forever.

as stated, as far as blinkers go, it's safer to have amber in front so it's clear you are changing lanes. i think the law permits clear in most states, but amber is still safer.

Ah I see. Ok I hadn't thought of that I guess it never bothered me.

At least it's not big.

Another solution would be a light tint on the headlight. Not removing the Amber but tinting would make it less notices if at all.

Again not a big fan but just came to mind.

So you're talking about this?

I think it's mandated by law, at least in the US, to have an amber reflector on the side of the front portion of the vehicle.

As far as the amber marker lights go, on the side, that could be a different story. However, unfortunately, the amber color of marker lights is also mandated by law.

The amber reflector only exists on Canada/USA-spec cars. If you get yourself some LHD headlights from overseas, that would take care of the amber bits you don't care for.

81145-53711 - Headlamp, RH (2014-2016 HID)
81185-53711 - Headlamp, LH (2014-2016 HID)
81145-53741 - Headlamp, RH (2014-2016 LED)
81185-53741 - Headlamp, LH (2014-2016 LED)

Note that you could get a ticket for doing this, as it is not legal.

I’ve read of this being done on another brand of car by several owners, so far none have been ticketed.

I've never heard or seen anyone get ticketed for it, but I have seen people fail vehicle inspections for it. So your mileage may vary.

Depending where you live and how strict the cops are, you could get pulled over or not. As for over here, it's hit or miss. Either you get a rookie cop and he is just strict off the bat and don't mind paperwork or a veteran cop who is relax about certain things and don't mind it. Even if you have the right recon registration(Hawaii go figure). On my IS I just put in Amber LEDs with built-in resistors and I honest like the yellow look. White just throws people off and too much attention in my honest opinion. There are aftermarket headlight for the pre-3IS facelift but the quality isn't there, in general aftermarket materials are cheap plastics that melt over time and the wiring is also cheap. The time the wires and housing spends in the heat just eats it up quick.

Unless you send it to someone who specializes in headlight retrofits, you can probably get it done but very hefty to do if you will be parting ways with the car eventually.

In California, I had baked, opened and removed the amber in my Acura TSX headlights.
I did replace it with an amber bulb (that flashes white) so I believe it was close enough to legal. I never had any issues with police or smog inspections.

However, with the headlights on the IS, I read opening them up is particularly difficult and so I've stayed away.

You could put a vinyl overlay on it like they do on the mustangs.

Just because cops haven't noticed doesn't make it legal in NA.
