Yeah. No sh.it.

I don't think he's ever leased before. He doesn't seem to know much about it. He's fixated on thinking there is some hidden upcharge, which I think is what happened to him and his deal.

All I know is that he is paying 50% more per mile than I am.

The milage is the only major difference between my deal and yours. While my car didnt come with NAV, I got the same (and more) accessories (and extended perks like the wheel and mechanical protection plans) as you at no charge.

Still the point is that no matter how each of our lease payments has derived, the payments are close. And, the fact is you think you did a great job on your lease negotiations by a "great selling price" of 34k, but your payment is similar to mine. Aside from the mileage argument you keep bringing up, your "selling price" should have equated a monthly payment less than 509 like Premier3is previously stated. Further, it is also my belief that the dealerships all know what number they are to leasing these F Sports. And being my and your deals both landed around the 500 mark, it's reasonable to suggest 500 is THAT target.

The reason my post was closed was out of my (and his) control. However, besides my (and premier3is's) comments, I feel my post received more substantial and constructive feedback than this post.

Lastly, to not answer my question on what car he actually drives and/or whether he is on a lease or not, Premier3is undoubtedly disqualified himself as any type of "credible source" long before this post's existence, when you and I have skin in the game. 😊👍

Enjoy your car!

Explain which option that you would rather have:

Option A-- $17,815 (35×509) to drive 45,000 miles.

Option B-- $21,546 (42×513) to drive 35,000 miles.

Hmmm...

The answer to your question would depend on how long one requires to keep lease ownership of his/her car. It's no different than saying 'how many days are you staying at a resort' and multiply the number of days by the daily cost.

Of course, if you just look at how much money you want to leave in your pocket, "cheaper" is always better!

It's kind of onvious you need validation on your subpar deal. Sorry, but you probably won't get any from anyone.

Better luck next time.

I don't think it depends at all. In option A, buyer would be getting more miles for less money. It's just silly to go for option B, given both options are equally easy to get.

I didn't get a good deal on my IS either, so I understand your frustration. I told the dealer exactly what I wanted - perhaps too exactly, and boxed myself into a payment that could have been lower. Like you, I do have the tire road hazard plan, and I agree that's worth the upcharge - and, it shouldn't be part of the discussion of lease payments anyway. The lease payment and other add-ons should have been represented as separate items. I have no regrets about getting it especially considering I've replaced a whole tire and wheel with it, but I also know I should have negotiated harder - perhaps even posted here on CL asking if it was a good deal, before signing on the line.

However, by these recent posts, it's obvious that continuing to interrogate GaryJG about his deal is not adding anything of substance to this thread. From what I've seen this was probably one of the most fair deals possible right now.

MrOtis,

Please exit this thread and place Premier3is on your ignore list. We welcome former (as well as future) Lexus owners on our community - current ownership is not a requirement.

We value their continued shared knowledge and often they find their way back into another Lexus and return to CL.

I would pass on it. I don't know how many months lease (or negative equity on ownership) have to be factored in, but $500 a month is a lot for an IS. also the new bumpers may look pretty but i have a feeling the car would feel really old about a week after you take delivery. get something newer

also keyes is kind of high when it comes to prices.. and don't fall for the "til the weekend only"--pretty sure they'd take your money after the weekend. on three separate cars i emailed all the dealers in socal for quotes and longo was always, by far, the best and easiest. some of the dealers out there were either offensive, clueless, or really jacked up prices.

if you want the best deal in socal on lexus, it's longo hands down. nobody touches them. if you want i can refer you to someone .. but for OP only. no one else pm me pls lol

Thank you I did by some front pads for it and doing that brake job for it this weekend. I am a fairly decent home mechanic and a Utube university graduate Any problems you feel I may encounter?? Jack points for this car ????

Utube U is good enough. I haven't done brakes on that car but i'm pretty sure the pads are the same part # or design as the big brake 2/3IS (200t/350 etc). so they should use similar, if not same calipers. which means the job is cake. see my brake DIY.

jack points, i'd at least use the side points where the pinch welds are. (assuming the LS uses those) but i'm not familiar with LS-specific points beyond that. the owners manual may tell you.
