Need New Battery?
Hello, I got in my 2014 IS-250 this morning and went to start it and it wouldn't turn over. Just got the "clickity click click" noise you get when the battery is dead. I just put a battery charger on it and waiting for it to fully charge. In a couple hours I'll try to start it again with a charged battery. Any recommendations for battery replacement? Any brands/types I should consider first? This is the first time I've owned a Lexus so I'm not sure how expensive a battery replacement gonna be. Hoping I can just stop by a Autozone and pick up a cheap battery. Any wisdom you can provide here is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Just plug your make/model into any website and see which one you need. Pretty basic of a battery. any brand will do since they all come from the three major battery suppliers of the world. Everyone just puts their own sticker on it and charges what they want.
Could be parasitic draw or could be just plain your battery is old. either way, 5 year mark is time to replace it.
2014 ISs did have problem with the gateway computer causing a parasitic draw though. did you ever get that fixed

If you have Blind Spot Monitoring or Clearance Sonar, then the vehicle could potentially have the Gateway ECU issue...however, if the vehicle is already 5-6 years old and didn't have the issue, I doubt it would start now.
As stated above, 5 years is typical for a run of the mill battery is a climate that seems extreme hot/cold throughout a calendar year (-35C to 35C...give or take).
Unlike other luxury brands these are just your simple batteries...no fancy programming or seance's needed to get the car up and running again...just replace the battery and set the clock to the right time.
Definitely buy a good quality battery...the OEM battery served you this long, so can't really say it's a crappy battery...ok, so maybe not the best out there, but definitely gets the job done.
And yeah, battery can just randomly die...could be a bad cell, or just the dropping overnight temps as we head into Fall.

I would write down your presets cause I can't remember for sure if they get erased or not.
The clock will be wrong when you reconnect the new battery, but that's to be expected.
You won't need a radio code or anything like that.
