How has the s/c been as far as reliablity and mpg? I have a gs350 Fsport and I and looking at the RR s/c later on. I know we have the same engine and transmission but probably different final drive ( I think the is is geared lower, as them things MOVE)

18,000 miles later the car still runs awesome no issues.
Mpg wise most my driving is a back road freeway mix 21mpg. on a road trip I still do 26 highway.

Think about it, the newest Mustang GT and Camaro SS make about that, bone stock. And they're faster, too. A Chevy SS (if you want a roomy 4-door) makes around 390whp stock, does 12s@110-111, and can be a reliable 650whp car with a blower on like 9psi and 91/93 octane. You'll curb-stomp an RC-F, even with a blower and be far more reliable than the 2GR-FSE is capable of in a safe or driveable manner.
I'm not trying to race and don't care what other cars can put down. I like my car, i just want a little more power. I might get a GS-F in the future , but its hard to justify buying a 75k new car/ 50k used car in my use case, as i drive ALOT, and take the GS on a bunch of road trips. a mild tune and/or s/c might be what im looking for it, it might not. I doubt putting a S/C running less than 9psi on a 2grfse with some miles on the clock is going to seriously hurt it, given i am not racing and launching.

You might be getting pretty close to used GSF price by trying to get more power from your GS350. Might be better to sell the GS350 and get the used GSF, less problems and more power.

I agree with the post above^ With all that money you're going to put into your GS350 to make it faster, you might as well invest into the GSF. Any force induction you do to a motor will affect its reliability... unless you upgrade the internals. But again alot of money that you can put towards a GSF.

You're telling me 7k on a paid off car cost more than 50k or more on another used car? I'm not saying buying a gs-f is a bad choice compared to getting a 350 tuned or supercharged but if your only looking for an extra 50 hp & 50 ftlbs of torque, a tune, exhaust and some other mild work are way cheaper than a whole nother car. Plus I would be morally obligated to baby the gs-f; there's no way I'd be taking that car on a road trip. Doesn't mean I'll never get an f of some sorts, but I don't feel bad putting miles on the 350.

No. Of course, 7k is alot less if you’re not accounting for how much you paid for your 350 and you’re installing it yourself. The cost difference of my IS350 AWD to the RCF was like 20k. With the 20k, I would be get 150+ HP and a respectable car. I decided not to go with the RCF because owning a coupe with a family inconvenient. If I wanted to make my IS350F as fast, I’m looking to pay about 10k- 13k for the S/C installed. (Parts and labor)

I mean if you only want 50hp increase thats different. Not worth upgrading to a GSF. But do expect reliability to go down with a S/C.

Agreed. I want a F but I can't justify the added cost and maintenance given I need two cars to daily, and since the wife hates flying with a passion we take road trips occasionally. I can't drive an F 40k miles a year; that's art damage.

I meant selling your GS350 and then using that towards the GS-F. $7K isn't a ton but I have heard it costing quite a bit more for install and tune etc. Like poster above said $10-13K for his supercharger including installation. If your used GS350 will fetch maybe $30K now adding $13K more you're already at $43K with decreased reliability and possibly still not making as much power as the GSF and all the suspension and other upgrades that come with the GSF which could be obtained for as you stated $50K used.

I just searched and the cheapest right now for a GS-F used on cargurus is $44K.
